Nervous little wave hello!

Hi there,

I had my blog approved by the lovely MN Blog ladies yesterday and I'm hoping that my blog will appear on here soon. My blog is about my time as a Mum of 2 under 5's (although DS has just turned 5!) for about 3 years whilst my DP is in prison on a conviction I firmly believe he is not responsible for. It's about the prison system, visits, struggles and the like. I've done nearly 11 months on my own so far and have at least another 16 to go (possibly 25, depending on parole).

I do write under a pen name (Izzy Gil-Tee) as there are members of my family who don't know where DP is. You can also find me on FB as Izzy Gil-Tee and Twitter as @convictswife.

Your blog sounds fascinating although I also feel slightly guilty reading it and I'm not sure why - probably because I feel so bad for you. I hope it helps to write things down though and that you find it cathartic.

I don't know much at all about the justice system and prisons and stuff work but have learned a surprising amount by following the tweets from the Jo Yeates trial and also from surreptitiously reading a forum for relatives of people in prison. I didn't actually realise how ignorant I was about the processes involved until quite recently so will be reading your blog with interest.

MmeG - please don't feel guilty for reading... If I didn't want it read, I wouldn't blog it Grin I do find it cathartic in a way.

Tee - there were no appeals. We talked about it & the judges summing up was more than fair, his sentencing showed he didn't favour the jury's verdict & we therefore had no legal reason to appeal. If we had appealed & lost, we could have been looking at a longer sentence.

Hi Jently/Izzy, had a read of your blog, will def be back for more. I don't know anyone going through what you are, I'm so sorry. I hope writing is cathartic! I would have left a comment on your blog, but couldn't? Is it kind of private (or maybe me just being incompetent, I'm bad at leaving comments).

I'm new on here too - just got the email today. I think I applied in July! So don't give up hope if you're still waiting Wink I was a bit surprised as I don't think I write about popular stuff - just bits about faith and home educating and a few recipes. I'm really selling it huh? But it's nice to be part of something, and feel like there's a bit of support out there.
