Today's post - a vaguely snarky look at the last episode of Downton Abbey. It has SPOILERS so don't leave 'I haven't seen it yet, damn you' type comments if you don't want me to set The Dowager Lady Grantham on you.

SenseofEntitlement · 07/11/2011 12:36

Another quickie about the fact that I'm going to try to blog more widely, and MmeLindor's blog hop.

Here

Also want to add that I do try to read all the posts put on here, even if I don't comment - hope I don't seem rude! Just occurred to me that I might seem a bit "post and run".

MmeLindor. · 07/11/2011 13:13

SEO
I am the same. I don't always comment on here, but try to comment on the blogs if I have time.

Thanks for the blog hop posts. Great to see some new blogs.

MmeLindor. · 07/11/2011 13:31

Debbie
Welcome to MN and to the BN. I am very much enjoying your blog. Loved the post about un-anniversaries.

This thread is getting better and better. So many different blogs.

wannaBe · 07/11/2011 13:55

ditto seo - I do read but often don't post either.

today I have blogged slightly away from events but have pondered about what happens when

\link{http://attheheartoftheopinion.blogspot.com/2011/11/when-internet-friends-die-do-you-ever.html\internet friends die}

This is a slightly personal one to me although I haven't posted the details in the blog post. But my oldest internet friend - the first person I ever spoke to online had heart surgery about four weeks ago. After his surgery I had a text to say he'd come through. A week later he made one twitter post to say he was sore, but ok but on oxygen, and since then no-one has heard anything from him - not even his closest friend who was in contact with his sister, but she has stopped communicating with her for some reason.

He has multiple health issues and in fact I suspect there is a possibility he may have developed complications and it is possible he may have died. But in truth there's no way of finding out. And in fact I may never know.

And this sparked a discussion with dh as to whether he would inform any of my internet friends if I died...

SouthernandCross · 07/11/2011 14:13

I'm starting off the week talking about my NaNoWriMo experience
Will up date weekly on this, I think.

SweetestThing · 07/11/2011 14:17

is this a normal reaction?

MmeLindor. · 07/11/2011 16:16

Wannabe
Great thought provoking post. Am going to mull it over and perhaps blog about it tomorrow. I hope that you hear word from your friend soon.

PetiteRaleuse · 07/11/2011 16:25

It is an interesting post Wannabe, have commented with my story on that one.

wannaBe · 07/11/2011 16:43

Welcome GeekySweetheart

PetiteRaleuse · 07/11/2011 17:08

All three of my blog posts today (aking up for this weekend) have been about blogging generally. How un-me !

I have posted a kind of response to Petit here. Prawn crackers jokes?

FlamingoBingo · 07/11/2011 20:17

MmeL - can you extend the life of your linky blog hop thingy? Will take part on Sunday if you can :)

Also, after our discussion about blog give-aways, here is FYP's first one - a review and give-away of the new breastfeeding book: Breastfeeding, Take Two by Stephanie Casemore.

MmeLindor. · 07/11/2011 20:29

Will do, FB.

Am writing a reply to Petite's questions.

DillyTante · 07/11/2011 20:29

Hello all, enjoying the blog posts, and commenting when I have something interesting to say! Thanks for checking out mine. I'm on a bit of a blogging roll since I have had a week off, and have got a couple scheduled too. I'm very pleased with the cushion I have made.

DillyTante · 07/11/2011 20:42

I'm not sure how I feel about the 'blagger' furore. Part of me gets put off blogs full of reviews and sponsors, but I can't help but but feel that some people are just a little bit peeved that their ground is being stomped on by greenhorned upstarts...?

FlamingoBingo · 07/11/2011 20:45

Love that cushion, Dilly! Smile

ahedgehogis · 07/11/2011 21:22

Hello, I'm also a new mn blogger, and have recently come back to mn to promote my blog.

This weeks post is an interesting one on chemo side effects!!!

have a read

For me blogging has led to a reporter contacting me to get my story in the local rag, which should be coming out this week.

I would love any feedback on my blog as I have been looking around and want to tart it up a bit!

QueenMaeve · 07/11/2011 21:59

my post on my fear of mice. You will all think I am a bit odd whne you read this!
I'd love to be a blagger Grin no one ever gives me free stuff!

YoungDebbie · 07/11/2011 22:34

Well, writing a jokey piece tonight about how to avoid doing the laundry has given me the excuse I needed to ignore my teetering pile of ironing for yet another evening - result! :)
How to Cut Down On Your Laundry

Amodmillymum · 08/11/2011 00:24

Re: Blagging - I love blogging because you get to do what you want with integrity or without, if that is what floats your boat. At the end of the day what works or doesn't work is down to your readers or how you feel about your blog and what you post. I think everyone should just enjoy the freedom and do what they want. There are very few writing gigs where you have the luxury of doing what you want, when you want so why not make the most of it.
