Should I go or Shouldn't I?

My granddad (whom I love dearly) has been suffering from dementia for 7 years now. He has no recollection of who I am anymore.He is being cared for by my mom and sister (in another part of the world).I visit him every year. Two days ago he was taken into hospital with severe lung infection and the doctor initially said there is only a 50/50 chance.I told my mom that I'm planning to fly in over the weekend but she stopped me saying that it's better that she monitors the situation and lets me know.
We have booked our holiday on the 21st of Nov for 7 days. Should I cancel or not?

What do you think he'd want you to do if he were lucid and were looking ahead to the future?

Will you, or he, draw any comfort from seeing you before he dies?

If you think you need to see him before he dies, then think about where you're going on holiday and if you can get back to see him or not.
