Anyone got any recommendations for funny blogs/bloggers?

I mean smaller ones - not the massive websites such as Regretsy, Cake Wrecks etc, I waste enough time on sites like those already!

I read quite a lot of thrift/fashion/craft style blogs already and my favourites are those with humour - am happy to check blogs on any theme though. Parenting blogs have potential to be hilarious but most I've seen are either a string of reviews on everything under the sun, or the not very interesting foibles of small children always given the pseudonym 'the Princess'. Obviously I realise that humour is subjective, but I try to keep mine amusing.

Any suggestions?

Well, people always say my blog makes them laugh (and it is USUALLY meant to!) Not just about parenting, either - because, we are more than just parents, aren't we?

Well, being a modest soul, it pains me to have to put forward my own little offering, but here goes:

www.crapteacdher.wordpress.com/

It's about the mad world of schools and education. Not for those offended by profanity!

StuckInTheFensAwayFromHome · 15/12/2011 09:46

For a completely different topic - this blog is about snowsports and the wierd world of tourists that want to go and do snowsports. I love the writing and never fails to make me laugh out loud and smile when I dip into it. misplacedperson.wordpress.com

This one has a very different tone (less funny - more a lovely sort of commentary) if you are a reader although my favourite posts relate to baking/cooking/recipebooks desperatereader.blogspot.com

I'm new to blogging but getting good feedback from all 7 people who read it...

Please have a look - I think it's bloody hilarious, probably because I write it...

this is my favourite funny blog. It is a bit of a Marmite in that you either get it or you don't (and I am not entirely convinced that people who don't know its gloriously hatstand creators will find all of it funny) but worth a look.

DillyTinsel · 18/12/2011 09:13

Love how everyone is posting their own blogs! Not posting mine because I don't think I'm that funny Grin

But if you want a taster of different blogs come and join us on the blogging chat thread.

Mine is parenting. My princesses are definitely not called 'Princess' though they do have pseudonyms. My blog is a mix of random family crap, feminist rants, memes, witterings about my twins, and other strange stuff. It occasionally dips in to funny. Try it www.trouble-doubled.blogspot.com

Hi again.
just had some wonderful news - Nigel Slater is reading my blog and loving it! - Of course it is called "Letters to Nigel Slater". I got an e-mail from his agent saying that they're all reading it too, and also that they've forwarded a link to someone at The Observer aswell! I can't believe my luck. It is a humorous blog but it's also about food - maybe it is in the wrong section. What do people think?

Not laugh out loud funny, but I try and put a humorous / black edge / poke fun at my own situation to some of my posts. See my "daddy's little girl" and others www.forty-not-out.blogspot.com

Hello!

I like to think my blog is wildly funny, but I'm not really after laughs, I just want to stop perpetuating the myth that motherhood is fun all the time and that we should never complain about how hard it is.

Visit my blog anyway and let me know what you think

If you like it, don't forget to share with friends!

Thank you X

BaronessOrczy · 23/01/2012 13:49

I am reliably informed that I clearly think I am being funny (thanks, Mum) and that I am hilarious from random strangers.

Be interested to see what you think of my blog

Great news, Martha Smile

PattiMayor · 23/01/2012 13:55

Shirley - your post about the pastry made me laugh out loud. Truly :)

Blatherskite · 23/01/2012 14:12

I see I'm way too late to suggest Shirley's blog! Grin

Blatherskite · 23/01/2012 14:18

Wetting myself at the cat snogging naked mongoose on the Bloggess blog!

If you can relate to bad hair, weak pelvic floors and the need for regular doses of sanity-restoring gin, then read my blog here. I also have a 10 year old who has recently discovered shell suits.

Hiya! I too am looking for some nice new funny blogs. I follow far too many beauty/fashion/crafts/parenting ones (not that this is bad) but I'd love a refreshing change. I am addicted to iamkathyb.blogspot.com/ and randomworldofjen.blogspot.com/ both fantastic and very humourous but I need more! Will be taking a look at the links posted above. I'm totally addicted to blog reading hehe!

If you fancy reading about how I'm trying to make a sane move from TV to teething, then you MAY be interested in reading my blog www.screentoscream.com

Alongside a blog about pregnancy (which should have ended three days ago but no signs yet) there are reviews on books, social media, places to visit and things to treat yourself to.

A mixture of child-friendly and child-free blogging.
