Hello! I'm shaking with nerves here as this is the first time I've created a new thread on Mumsnet and this is a terrifying and rather momentous occasion. What if I do it wrong?!

Anyway, here's the inaugural post and it is, I think, a GOOD one:

A guest post about actors looking hot in Roman armour.

You're welcome. ;)

Afternoon! My latest blog post:

www.mummybarrow.com/2011/11/football-or-more-importantly-tevez-vs-sharp/

Tevez vs Billy Sharp as examples of being a footballer kids look up to.

MmeGuillotine -- I have just discovered your blog and think it's wonderful. Thank you! Content fabulous, and your website is a thing of beauty.

MissPB · 02/11/2011 18:38

Hello (feeling shy and brave) this is my first post in the bloggers forum so with knees shaking, here is my latest blog post -
simplemissp.blogspot.com/2011/11/baked-borlotti-bean-chorizo-soup.html. Rather prosaic compared with lots of your posts but still tasty!

(hope the link works!)

PetiteRaleuse · 02/11/2011 18:49

Yay - welcome - another food blogger - there are some great ones on here so you're in excellent company. I have been getting all my recent recipes from blogs on here so shall add yours to my follow list!

MmeGuillotine · 02/11/2011 21:03

SophRunning · 02/11/2011 22:17

I love your blog Shirley - I hope the violet vodka starts behaving soon! :)

Lifeofanexpatparent · 02/11/2011 22:37

My post about taking tests for love. And it was blooming hard, too! It's the British citizenship test. I've put the practice test link up, if anyone wants to have a go. ;)

wannaBe · 02/11/2011 23:20

am not a fan of vodka but reckon I could be persuaded. [wi;nk]

Anyway here's tonight's offering about

\link{http://attheheartoftheopinion.blogspot.com/2011/11/when-public-grieve-for-dead-celebrities.html\grieving for dead celebrities}

in light of the fact Jimmy Savile will be displayed in a Leeds hotel next week prior to his funeral! Shock

SixthSenseofEntitlement · 02/11/2011 23:30

My latest post is about how sometimes we (as in sufferers of mental illness) can let the very idea of stigma stop us from getting on with life.

Sense of Entitlement

MmeLindor. · 02/11/2011 23:52

Good post, SoE.

Am tempted by Shirl's parmaviolet vodka. Did I ever tell you that you can buy violet icecream here? It tastes of parmaviolets. Yum

PetiteRaleuse · 03/11/2011 08:53

I have ranted about war Because though you might not have noticed it with everything else that has been going on the UK and the US are preparing for yet another one.

ShirleyKnot · 03/11/2011 09:25

violet ice creams?

Omigod. I love violet creams, and anything rose flavoured.

That parma violet voddy is mentally foamy though MMeL - I'm hoping it's going to start behaving itself this week.

DeliriousTante · 03/11/2011 09:51

Hello all!
The vodkas sound, um, interesting! But then I am not a fan of parma violets. Or vodka. But good fun though :)

I've been blogging about advent calendars. Sorry! I know it's early, but if you want to make one it's time to start (ahem - Stitch this!).

ShirleyKnot · 03/11/2011 10:05

You never like my stuff Dilly. Sad

Wink
DillyTante · 03/11/2011 10:28

I liked the owl cakes and the ones with Oreos at the bottom.

I'd take it as more of a reflection of my boring tastes than your activities Grin

If you could just limit your creations to chocolate/biscuit/cake/red wine/chocolate ice cream based fayre I'd love all of them! In fact maybe we could do a blog link up where you come up with some sort of creation to tempt me and I have to recreate it and review it! G'wan it'd be fun!

ShirleyKnot · 03/11/2011 10:32

Jesus, really those owl cupcakes were the best tasting chocolate cake I have ever made. Honestly they were amazing. Thank you Hummingbird.

OK - let me think about that blog hop idea Grin I'm making quince chutney this weekend (or marmalade) so that's no good. I might have to do a trial run of Red Velvet Christmas cupcakes - or start on the dreaded Christmas ckae. ARGH!

CoffeeMummy · 03/11/2011 11:07

I've lost my school run mojo - post is here

Greetings all, will read some more posts when I've had another coffee done some work Wink
