How do I get rid of my facebook account?

Before my 'friends' irritate me even more!

go to account settings and click deactivate account.. If you ever want it back you just have to sign back in again> quite scary all the info just stays somewhere

There is a way to completely delete your account but they don't make it easy to find. I found these instructions but I don't know if they are up to date. (you need to click 'see more' at the bottom of 'basic info')
