Liz Jones is a professional troll....

I find it incredible that she gets paid for the inconsistent trash she writes.

The RS is not real. Do you honestly believe that during the last 18 months she's been spotted at festivals, in hotels and eateries all over England with him and NOT ONE PHOTO has been posted online.
None of her neighbours has ever seen any evidence of him.

Liz Jones gets paid because she provides hits to the website of the Mail & the MOS. This is why her articles have become increasingly provocative and fictitious. The rants at Primark wearing mums, the fake RS - it's all designed to keep readers clicking on the page.

She has kept the RS story going for around 18 months now. If she hadn't come up with this particular fantasy she would most probably have lost her Diary column, as the sick animal and unfriendly neighbours stories were beyond boring.

Totally. Agree. With. You.
Have thought this for years.
(She's still horrendous, even if it's all made up. I mean, what a life?)

LeBOF · 02/10/2011 13:40

I agree. I don't believe a word of it.

Bolted · 02/10/2011 13:43

Even more unpalatable is the tale of her financial woes. Last year she claimed to be near enough bankrupt and had no money to feed her animals - little old ladies were sending her money through the post (so she says).

This continued as recently as April 2011. Yet she is now once again bragging about her profligate spending and second home in Bristol. Not to mention the London 'cupboard'.

Oh yes- I remember that she said she was too proud to accept it all, so donated it to sick horses. Didn't give it back or anything, oh no. Mavis must have been so pleased that her winter fuel allowance was keeping Dobbin toasty.

LadyDangermouse · 02/10/2011 15:40

Well "Not Liz Jones" has finally had time to update her latest fiction: notlizjones.blogspot.com and has also gained a twitter page: twitter.com/notlizjones.

Of course she has signed up to follow: twitter.com/JimKerr09 (who has not tweeted since 27 July - wonder if he will notice?).

If Liz Jones is really in a relationship with Jim Kerr surely they would want to put a stop to my spoof and come clean pretty soon? ;-)

BoysAreLikeDogs · 02/10/2011 15:48

OP

Are you new ?

Smile
TinyJen · 04/10/2011 16:48

Rather than focus on who the (F)RS might be (but almost certainly isn't), let's take a look at the facts, as culled from Jones' writings and my own researches:

Although, according to Jones, they've been seen together at a festival, hotels and restaurants, not a single photo or report has emerged since the alleged relationship commenced. Likely ?

The neighbours haven't seen any such visitor.

The alleged first meeting in the pub post-AmDram performance over a year ago is in many aspects identical to a similar scenario that Jones originally wrote about in 2000, which in turn allegedly took place in the 1980s. Credible ?

The hints dropped point so emphatically in the direction of Jim Kerr it's close to risible. Very inept double bluff.

OldBailey · 05/10/2011 11:12

I hope the mumsnet lawyers are watching these threads very closely. You are sailing a bit close to the wind with some of your assertions TinyJen.

TinyJen · 05/10/2011 18:42

Following a similar comment, I checked the definition of 'libellous', and it included the word 'untrue'. Nothing I have stated above is untrue... unless Jones has been writing the untruths herself, which we know she is capable of (example - claiming to have received mail on a Monday responding to an article that was published the previous day, despite there having been no Sunday collections since October 2007).

mrsbassy · 10/10/2011 18:39

other threads pulled?

SuePurblybilt · 10/10/2011 18:45

Of course she is. But I think she believes some of it, I think the RS thing has incy grains of truth and she spins the rest.

befuzzled · 10/10/2011 21:40

i agree with you. She's vile. I dont think all the money is worth portraying yourself in such a foul manner.

heebeejeebees · 11/10/2011 10:03

Where have the other threads gone. Has a new one been started??Shock

SarahsKitchen · 11/10/2011 13:05

@heebeegeebees

Yes I added a link earlier, it is www.mumsnet.com/Talk/_chat/1318221-Are-we-STILL-curious-about-the-Rock-Star-and-Liz-Jones?msgid=27854569#27854569

CowboysGal · 12/10/2011 04:37

staying up till daft o'clock on a school night does have some excellent rewards. Firstly, discover there is a Sleb twaddle area Grin and Second, Liz Jones is a troll. My thoughts exactly. Did anyone actually read the plastic surgery piece that took up a fair few pages of the You mag not so long ago. Was wondering if it was as shite as I figured or did I miss out on a really interesting few pages?

Nancy66 · 16/10/2011 12:14

....and yet, here you all are, totally obsessed with her.

Feenie · 16/10/2011 12:16

But in bringing up a 4 day old thread, you are not, of course......Wink

Jawbreaker · 16/10/2011 12:17

Liz Jones is a pathetic creature, but FGS OP, why are you creating this vile witch hunt? She is just another shit DM hack, not Hitler. Chill the fuck out.

reelingintheyears · 16/10/2011 15:14

I've never heard of Liz Jones.

googietheegg · 19/10/2011 05:46

I saw her at heathrow a few weeks ago and man did she look old, miserable and witchy. And was certainly alone.

tillytips · 19/10/2011 15:42

Don't read her articles then. Simples!

catwithflowers · 21/10/2011 19:55

Who is Liz Jones? A columnist? A genuine question Blush

KengaTengo · 30/10/2011 17:04

i don't quite understand the relationship. if Liz Jones is employed as a "professional troll" to drive hits to the DM website, how does that beneft them? Because when I go to the DM website, I may well click across to a few other features and celebrity articles etc, but I never end up clicking on any advertising. So if that is the theory, does it actually do the DM any good? Soz if i am being thick.

SuePurblybiltFromBitsofCorpses · 30/10/2011 17:06

Don't websites charge advertising based on how many visitors they get as well as who clicks through?
