Well, I guess its technically still Saturday here in Canada, but I am operating on UK time Wink

Kicking off this week with my chilled cherry lemonade (vodka optional :))

I really like it when I make, photograph, write about and post the recipe all in the same day. Doesn't happen very often though, today is an exception!

Looking forward to seeing what you guys are coming up with for this week.

I agree, MmeLindor - I just feel that it's not on for me to write about kids older than my own. My contributor writes, as you prob know, about 8-12 year olds once a week.

Just got to find some minor slebs to let me interview them and work my way up!

FlamingoBingo · 15/09/2011 10:45

Cheating a bit here again, but my latest contribution to the Mslexia blog is up now: This too shall pass?

I had the misfortune of reading a Simon Heffer article today. Here is what it provoked.

I have a new blog post up today. Betty Bees Confidence Tricks (and yes one of them is wearing red lipstick)

Betty I hadn't seen your blog before it's fabulous!

MmeGuillotine · 15/09/2011 15:48

I posted this exactly a year ago today, but the sentiment still rings true - Agatha Christie (born today in 1890) is bloody brilliant!

The off-putting amount of likes and comments is due to this post being on the Wordpress front page last year. It's not usually like Piccadilly Circus!

Cheria · 15/09/2011 16:08

MmeG I have to admit that I have never read an Agatha Christie book. Have seen a few plays and films, and watched th eodd episode of Miss Marple, but never actually read any of the books.

I deserve the guillotine don't I?! Grin

New Adventures of Beth

MmeGuillotine · 15/09/2011 16:42

Cheria, not at all! I always think that Christie is one of those things that is just as good on screen than in a book and tbh they are whodunnits so once you've seen the film version, there's not much point reading the book too! ;)

Book review here - only useful if you have a kindle (or kindle-reading software on another device), sorry.

TrillianAstra · 15/09/2011 19:42

I have read a lot of Miss Marple but not much else in the way of Agatha Christie.

Tee2072 · 15/09/2011 20:08

I love Agatha Christie, will go read in a minute.

But first...we found a house!!

TrillianAstra · 15/09/2011 20:10

Yay, so glad to hear some good news from you Tee :)

TrillianAstra · 15/09/2011 20:10

(I don't mean you are usually moany, I mean I'm happy that a good-news-thing has happened to you)

MmeGuillotine · 15/09/2011 20:15

The Miss Marple books are Agatha Christie's best work and I say that as a rabid I'll Read Anything She Wrote Even Her Shopping Lists fan. ;)

Congratulations Tee! :)

Tee2072 · 15/09/2011 20:29

I recently read all the Tommy and Tuppence via e-Book, MmeG. Love those!

She truly was an amazing story teller.

I have linked to you MmmGuillotine as find your blog most luscious and you share my passion for historical literature. Smile I have found having to renew library books up to five times since the birth of angry sleepless one far harder than anything else in motherhood.
Pics finally up on blog. Done with cheapy camera as the good one died in the rain when looking for standing stones but they are not so bad.

Probably not of much interest to most of you but here is my take on the French political situation.

songs my mother taught me

Love Agatha Christie - my grandma always read her - the book covers were bloodcurdling, I remember...
