HAHAHAHA ONLY JOKING!!

TA-DA!!!! I'M FINALLY HERE after much moaning on Twitter and a lost application, Mumsnet have fast-tracked my application and I'm now officially a "Mumsnet Blogger". What have I let myself in for??

Some of you may already know me, in which case "Hi" - make yourselves known.
Some of you may never have heard of me, in which case "Hi" - where the frig have you been for the past two years?
Some of you may know me from a previous life where I had a different username, in which case "Hi" - and sssshhhh we don't talk about that any more.
Some of you may know me in real life, in which case "Hi" - isn't it time you rang me and we arranged a coffee date?
Some of you have probably clicked off by now and though "weirdo", in which case "Bye".

I have been described as Tigger, Quirky and The Queen of Rants. I blog at Typecast

20, what nonsense. To call it an unwarranted and open attack is overstating and misrepresenting events. A few posters were mildly grumpy at the start, and two people used the word cunt in an obviously "ooh, naughty word" sort of way and were immediately deleted. Nevertheless, a giant shitstorm of outrage was drummed up in the twitsphere and a horde of "defenders" stormed the thread and Would Not Stop. So more MNers appeared too to see what all the fuss was about.

You seem to think that the MNers who have quite naturally joined an active thread on their own forum are bandwagon-jumpers but the new arrivals are not, which is rather twisted logic. Regardless, it's hardly World War 3, you know? Really -- try to step back and get some perspective.

And calling someone a cunt on the boards is really not the fearful, end-of-days, gloves-are-off insult you are claiming it as. It got deleted, sure, but so would any other direct name-calling, sweary or otherwise. I realize "cunt" offends some people, but lots of others use it fairly casually as a way of reclaiming the word. You don't need to approve, but again ... perspective.

No doubt much traffic has been drummed up for various blogs though, eh? Wink

No bastard has been to look at my blog. And I've been making tenuous links to Shakespeare and poultry. Or trying to.

As tempted to link to my blog, particularly the mummyblogger/Cybermummy post. :o

20something, you are a bit of a bore TBH.
It is as though you are screaming in every other post "But loooooook at me I'm a bloggger, I have awards and everything!"

Good for you, I'm really happy that you are enjoying blogging but please take a step back from this and walk away with some dignity, as you are making yourself look a little bit desperate.

Hello. It looks like there's been a bit of confusion about the Mumsnet Bloggers Network and about the Bloggers forum here on Mumsnet Talk, so we just wanted to make a couple of things clear.

First off, anyone can apply to join the Mumsnet Bloggers Network. You don't have to be a Mumsnetter to apply. But you DO have to join Mumsnet when you register your application. So everyone who successfully joins the Mumsnet Bloggers Network is a Mumsnetter - but some of them may be very, very new newbies.

This Bloggers forum is part of Mumsnet Talk ? not some separate place ? as we thought our Bloggers would like a place to discuss blogging and swap tips. It's fine for people to link to their blogs from this forum ? it would be a bit weird otherwise ? but on the rest of Mumsnet Talk we do discourage people from posting links to their blogs or otherwise promoting their blogs, as we know spamming is annoying.

We'll look at how we can make this distinction as clear as possible because we know it's a wee bit confusing.

And finally, of course, we do expect everyone posting in the Bloggers forum to follow our Talk Guidelines when they post - just as we would expect every other Mumsnetter to. Everyone who joins the Mumsnet Bloggers Network is emailed a guide to how the Talk forums work and a link to our Talk Guidelines.

Then if thats the case, you seriously need to address how longterm members speak to new members- if they are an advert to joining with any part of your network, then you need all the help you can get.

The rest- my view is that its pointless talking to those who resemble a brick wall. You can keep your forum, frankly, you are welcome to it. Just leave me and my blog alone.
