how to hide your friends list

I am finally taking the plunge and joining the FB band wagon

after poking around I notice some people who are not friends have very limited settings, ie you can only see their profile pic and not the list of who their friends are.

how do you do this?

go into account - top right

then privacy Settings

then customise settings written in blue

then set them to how you want ie 'friends only' or whatever
