While everyone else is getting their thinking caps on

Oh, I do like that ,Twigs, how cute. My lot don't do colours ,though, just varying shades of mud.

Rather sneered at on MN, but I like Pumpkin Patch and they have a near-permanent sale.

PasstheTwiglets · 07/06/2011 21:52

The age change happens with girls clothes too, Small (though not to the same extent). Until the age of 6 girls clothes are easy to get anywhere but I've found that for DD's age now it's impossible to get either basic stuff (eg. plain tops) or stuff that isn't 'fashion'. It's all sparkles here and slogans there... urgh. Some places are good (again, Boden one of the few places that does age-appropriate clothing) but we used to get lots of kids clothes in Tesco or Sainsburys and that's impossible now.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 07/06/2011 21:55

Yes, but when we were in north Norfolk (I know, I know) Girl and I played 'spot the Boden' on the beach!

PasstheTwiglets · 07/06/2011 21:56

Maud, have never seen Pumpkin Patch before - again, all the logo'd stuff is surk/sport/skate, which I find terribly dull and repetitive but they do have some lovely non-logo stuff there.

PasstheTwiglets · 07/06/2011 21:58

LOL, yes, it is very easy to spot! Espeically the boys stuff which stands out a mile - I think I know every Boden applique t-shirt form the last 3 seasons :) Often I've posted a pic on DS on FB and someone will say "we've got that t-shirt!" :)

Where did you go in North Norfolk? We've been there the last 2 years running and loved it (Holt/Wells/Sheringham area). Not having a beach holiday this year though :(

Right, I think I'd best be off to bed. Night, all!

TheSmallPrint · 07/06/2011 21:59

I love pumpkin patch by it does do the age thing again for boys. I have never bought anything frm Boden and highly unlikely to in the future.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 07/06/2011 22:01

PP do have some nice stuff. It works well with Girl, who is at the stage of wanting things to be fashionable. Their stuff is fashionable enough to satisfy her while being age-appropriate enough to keep me calm. So much of the clothing aimed at her age group is more Strumpet than Cinderella.

Hunstanton.

SupermassiveLBD · 07/06/2011 22:02

Night night, and sweet dreams Twigster. I hope you don't have too early a start tomorrow!

I suppose I have to wait now until mine are into the Armani and Prada, if I want to see them looking good.

OP posts:
PasstheTwiglets · 07/06/2011 22:05

Ooooh, Hunstanton has fabulous rock pools! We went there a couple of times. Beautiful stripey cliff face, too.

Massive, remember our dear friend Prardar... :)

Dammit, I've just been reminded to search for Boden sales and there are a couple coming up near me. They are hideous, head-bashingly (sometimes literally) awful experiences but MAN you can make a lot of cash... kind of wish I hadn't looked now.

Right, really going now.

TheSmallPrint · 07/06/2011 22:05

Im orf to bed too, good night and sweet dreams of lovely hands to you all.

SupermassiveLBD · 07/06/2011 22:07

Night night Small, and the same to you Grin

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 07/06/2011 22:10

Good night Twiggy and Small!

Many a gentleman looks fine in a Prada shirt, Massive.

SupermassiveLBD · 07/06/2011 22:17

many a gentleman looks pretty darn good without one, too Grin

Blimy! Is that Mr Bateman? He looks as if he's had a hard day's night.

How are the dinos?

OP posts:
DumSpiroSpero · 07/06/2011 22:38

It's actually The Man himself from the extras on Spooks 9 dvd.

I didn't even get started on the dinos (am as bad at homework as DD). Have been internet shopping and faffing on her keyboard, trying to suss out the riff at the beginning of 'Seven Nation Army' by the White Stripes!

SupermassiveLBD · 07/06/2011 22:44

He looks tired and p"""ed off there, I have to say. Have you thought of learning the cello?

OP posts:
ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 07/06/2011 22:47

::Kisses Spiro::

I have just realised that I Must Be Officially Cool And Groovy because we have that track on a CD.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 07/06/2011 22:49

Seriously, if you want to be transported to another plane, find Yo Yo Ma on YT playing Bach. 'Tis extraordinarily beautiful.

DumSpiroSpero · 07/06/2011 22:54

It's the soundtrack on one of my fave YouTube vids, Maud! Grin

Massive, I am really not musically inclined, other than listening to it, but have just taught myself middle c, d & b from Dd's book (at least I think I have - will have to check with her that I'm getting it right!)

SupermassiveLBD · 07/06/2011 23:08

Mm love dat ol' cello music, myself. At school we sometimes used to have to walk into assembly to the tune of The Swan . Strange choice, perhaps, but it was my favourite.

OP posts:
ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 07/06/2011 23:11

I imagine ::searches on YT:: you mean the JP one, but which might be of interest to some.

::Looks over at Massive::
