Can we have a dos and don'ts for MN bloggers?

I know we have the list of terms and conditions but can I ask a few questions here.

1. Are we allowed to link to our blogs here on the Blogger topic, ie to show our new posts?

1. What about blogs that are mainly reviews? Nothing against them, but they are kind of sneak adverts. Will they be approved? And will bloggers who do the occasional review, will they be ok?

1. What is the deal with linking the blogs on other parts of MN? Are we allowed to do that or not?

1. Your link to the bloggers network doesn't work. That is not a question, but I thought I would throw it in there.

Anyone else?

I haven't really thought about it, but those are all good questions!

It?s fine for you to link within the Bloggers topic, if you?re members of the network, of course. But it?s not OK elsewhere on the boards, as it annoys other members.

We?re still figuring out our exact line on reviews, but we won?t be accepting blogs that run with nothing else.

And thanks for the heads-up about the link. We?re on it and will let you know when it?s fixed.

Hang on, what's wrong with linking to blogs on other parts on the site if people are asking for information and the blog post answers that? I'm thinking the arts and crafts section, where I have got lots of information and help via people linking to their and other people's blogs and where I have also linked my blog for people who have asked. I tihnk within the arts and crafts section people should be able to link to blogs, their own or other people's.

I think that it is ok if you are linking to a blog with the intention of helping someone out - there are sometimes links that have only a tenuous link to the thread that seem more to be about advertising the blog than actually assisting the OP.

Does that make sense? I am never sure whether it is ok to link to my blog as I don't want it to seem like I am advertising it.

Makes sense. Have to agree with OMDB re arts and crafts section. No one has complained I guess because we are all talking about what we've made and like to see pics ....
