The footballer was being blackmailed by the Big Brother woman, according to Holy Moly, who have quoted court documents. Total set-up.

He must be a complete div if he didn't know that she would sell out to the papers. Having said that though if he'd kept it in his pants....

I never would have guessed HB would have been one of the people with an injunction but then I did wonder why there was a random article in the daily hate mail about why doesn't he ever talk about his wife?!

I feel sorry for her. She should have just sold her story without giving him the option to buy her out of it, that way she would have got her money and he would have got his just desserts.

here's a question - IF she's innocent of a supposed blackmail attempt - do we think it's possible IT asked for 50k to take out her own super-injunction to protect herself? in which case she really has been hung out to dry?

BitOfFun see that's where this gets murky as she would have got more out of just selling her story without warning him. so i don't buy the whole thing that she asked for 50k to keep quiet - it would have paid her more to just go ahead and blab.

AnyFucker footballer's are led by their sense of entitlement/penises - yes, but they are not stupid - even if just to the extent that they have the sense to have clever people around them to protect their interests. At the moment they are buying the law to ensure they can get away with pretty much anything without any comeback - which will help them keep the cash rolling in from endorsements, sponsorship deals etc. So they aren't that daft iykwim...

fwiw i think it stinks to high heaven.

I think you'd be surprised how little the tabloids will shell out to shaggers these days. Recession and all that. A premier league footballer's pockets are far deeper...

What makes me snigger is the thought of asking for a signed shirt off the person you've been bumping uglies with. How crass!

She's just been on This Morning. I was sceptical at first especially after the stories yesterday, but after watching her interview I feel very sorry for her. She's clearly besotted by the man and feels completely hung out to dry. She said she welcomes the super-injunction but doesn't understand why they don't cover the women involved as well. She also said that the story broke because journalists from the Sun were camped outside her house. The Sun have also stated that they were never in any arrangement with IT to buy her story about the affair, and she's never been labelled a blackmailer by the court or by Gyan Riggs.

I find it disgusting that the super-injunction has been brought about to "protect the claimant's wife and kids" - he clearly wasn't thinking much about them when he was sticking Little Ryan in places he shouldn't have been. He's a hypocrite, she's been very stupid but she doesn't deserve to have her name and reputation (what's left of it) dragged through the coals whilst he hides behind a £50k gagging order.

Looking at it another way, his wife must be spitting blood. She can't speak to anyone, papers or otherwise, about the situation because of the super-injuction. I bet she wishes she could say a word or two about the whole thing.

I wonder why journalists were camping outside her house? Nothing to do with her approaching Max Clifford then? She's full of crap. Crocodile tears. And he's obviously no better than every single other over-paid bladder-kicker.

CatPower - don't feel too sorry for her, she knows exactly how all this stuff works.

How did the papers know she had been shagging him? They wouldn't print the story without some kind of evidence either pics of them together or one of them being interviewed about it.

She could easily have kept her 'reputation' in tact. She's pissed off that she hasn't got her big payday from NOTW.

I thought it was one of her friends that grassed them up to the press? That's why they turned up outside her place. Am sure that's what I heard anyway. Of course, there is always a chance that she could have told the friend to go to the press. To be honest, I think we are going to have a Tiger Woods type of situation with this particular footballer. I think once it is revealed then more women will come forward and say "oh I've had a ding dong with him aswell".
