applying for new JOBS while TTC?? ?

i have been in the same (teaching) job for 15 years and absolutley need to move on. now.

i have some exciting new career ideas which i'm keen to pursue (still in teaching- just not whole class teaching).

but... dh and i have just decided that we want to try for baby number 3 (am 38 and have dds aged 7 and 9).

i have been gearing myself up mentally to quitting my job this summer, and for my own sanity i have to see this decision through.

logically this seems bonkers, as i'd be forgoing materntiy benefits by .

however, i just know that i have to move on, and am excitied about my future- be it a new job, a new baby, or a combination of the two.

is it unfair on prospective employers, though, to apply for a job whilst actively TTC? i fell PG very easily in the past, but it could be different now that i'm older...

i just feel a bit confused - and excited- about my future job/ baby plans, but havent quite figured out how the two fit together!!

i think i just needed to write that down.

I was exactly the same, kinda decided I needed to move on at the start of the year but at the same time was ttc. In the end I decided it would be unfair to both myself and a new employer to get a new job only to go on mat leave 5/6 months later so gave up the hunt and.........got pg in Feb.

However (this is not a happy story) have just (yesterday) lost the baby and so the dilema begins again. I had decided I was happy enough to stay in my job til my leave and look for a new start at the end but now - new job or ttc all over again.

It's not an easy choice. Good luck to you.

oh lilpud, i'm so sorry to hear your sad news. it is such a dilemma.

i gave my notice in yesterday and feel that it was the right thing to do.
