DD recovering from chicken pox - should I take her out?

DD2 came out in chicken pox spots last Thursday - she has had no new ones since Sunday and they are all now crusted over so not contagious, but she is obviously still looking quite spotty.

It's DD1's birthday tomorrow and we have booked for her and some friends to go bowling and then to Frankie and Bennys. DD2 was originally supposed to be coming with us but we're not sure what to do now.

She's not contagious, as I said, and feels completely fine in herself (has done all along actually) so no real reason why we shouldn't take her but I don't want to get dirty looks from other people. DH can stay home with her but it seems a shame for her (and him) to miss out on the celebrations.

What would you do?

As long as she is not contagious, and is well in herself take her with you, it takes ages for all the spots to go, you can't keep her locked up forever.

Have fun Grin

Take her out - she's fine!

My DD came out in spots last Wednesday, all crusted over by Sunday, I took her her out yesterday. All fine, a few people asked if she'd had chicken pox. Didn't notice any disapproving looks!

Take her.

She's still scabby but not contagious. No need to worry (ignore the scathing looks that she's bound to get)

Ah, thank you, that's put my mind at rest. It's so long ago that DD1 had it that I can't remember how long the spots took to go. I'm going to take her!

Good, enjoy the meal :)

I wouldn't recommend anyone goes to Frankie and Benny's.
