I don't remember Dawn French and wagon wheels, but I remember Victoria Wood remarking of someone (her friend Kimberley, perhaps) that she wouldn't say she had a big mouth, but she could get a wagon wheel in without biting it. But I was surfing about on t' interweb, generally looking for history books, novels or biogs etc and by random chance came across some of those Romantic Swoony Passionate chick lit type ones. And the topless fit Lords and Lairds etc in the cover paintings were not a patch on the reality of our boys.
