Would you bother taking something back if you'd been charged £1 over the ticketed price?

I'm really annoyed about this. Wanted to get my DS some croc-a-likes for summer and they had some Spiderman ones in Mothercare for £9 - that's what it says on the printed ticket which is attached to the shoe. So not a price sticker as such. Paid for them with some other stuff and it was only when I got home that I looked at the receipt and realised they've charged me £10 for them. It's not somewhere I go every week but I really want to take them back now and buy some fake crocs somewhere else. It's probably going to cost me a quid in petrol to get there though so it isn't really worth it. But the principle of it gets on my tits.

I probably would take them back, or maybe just ring them and see if they can refund the overcharge onto your card over the phone. They need to be notified that the item is coming up the wrong price on the till IMO.

if going there was easy, or i was going back anyways and the principle of it bothered me that much, then yes, i would take it back
but if it means three quid in petrol plus another three in parking, or three quid in bus fares, then i wouldnt bother.

Good idea emsy. I will ring them up. Just seems so bloody underhand to charge a different price at the till. I bet most people don't even notice. I don't have to pay parking ladysybil but I won't be going back there for a few weeks.

I would be annoyed but probably wouldn't bother taking them back, I do try
to check receipts before leaving if I remember, which isn't that often

roundtoit · 22/04/2011 12:09

i would ring them and let them know but say you can not come back for about 4 weeks, get the name of the person you talk to. its your £1 , rather give to your little one than them .

Thomas1969 · 03/05/2011 19:12

I would. Doesn't matter what the 'price tag' was like. If there was no other price on them then what you saw WAs the price. I wouldn't hang about though.

Its not worth the hassle

snice · 03/05/2011 19:27

upahill · 07/05/2011 08:34

I wouldn't bother for a quid.
