Wouldyou stay in London or outside somewhere nicer?

i have won tickets to see a show recorded in london. I am going with dd and a friend of mine.
Money is a bit tight at the moment so my options are to stay in central traveloge (which has mixed reviews) for £60 per night per room (we will need two) plus £18 parking and money to travel around london, have a little shop on saturday and drive home.
Or stay at the Village in Farnborough aNd commute in. Its £79 for the night b&b for the 3 of us, and we could have a swm on the saturday and a nice lunch before we leave. Train fare is £13 pp return into lonon.

So WWYD?

I would stay more centrally, unless money was exceptionally tight and you had to really watch the pennies.

You are talking about £20 difference, depending on what travel costs you opt for within London (how walkable is it from the Travelodge to where you are going?) for the inconvenience of the long commute (and subject to delays!), though if a swim means a lot to you, then you can factor that in. Depending on where you are coming from and how often you get to London, how much you like London and want to see of it, would sway the decision - me, I'd like to have less of a journey, and be a stone's throw from all the sights, be able to nip back to the hotel after the day's events and freshen up/drop off my shopping before heading back out for the evening.

Have fun!

Thanks all, i think you are right and no matter how bad the room is at least we will be central and can do some shopping and eat somewhere nice
