Let's all make passes at Harry in glasses

Snuggly!

Beautiful smile

Dawn French is one lucky lady

Who wouldn't want to come home to this on their sofa?

You are all very good and clever.

I have nothing else to contribute except my appreciation for the Marian/Guy vid.

Excuse me now, I have to change my underwear.

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 02/04/2011 22:08

Oh yeah Massive - the hair on the shoulders ::wibble:: not a pic I am familiar with either!!!

PassTheTwiglets · 02/04/2011 22:11

Oh Spiro, that was genius!! My goodness, that must've taken you all night! I LOL'd myself silly at the picture you chose for "frightened by invertebrates" :) When you get time tomorrow, could you possibly have another look at your link for the line "The way they focus on me gives me twinges"? It was one of those links that took us to a gallery of several pictures and I'm dying to know which one you meant :)

And what a fantastic poem, too - I've never read that before (or even heard of John Fuller Blush) but it's my new favourite!

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 02/04/2011 22:12

Wow, Spiro. That is some labour of love you've done there. There's one further line that, with a bit of tweaking, could be illustrated too.

By asking you to differentiate Nietzsche from Schopenhauer. Or Plato.

Has Wendy Cope written a poem on these lines? There's something about it that makes me think of Wendy Cope. I'll go and have a look.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 02/04/2011 22:18

I can't find the poem I'm thinking of (possibly because it doesn't exist) but I did find this. I don't have Spiro's stamina for finding illustrations, though.

Summer Villanelle by Wendy Cope

You know exactly what to do -
Your kiss your fingers, on my thigh -
I think of little else but you.

It's bliss to have a lover who,
Touching one shoulder, makes me sigh -
You know exactly what to do.

You make me happy through and through,
The way the sun lights up the sky-
I think of little else but you.

I hardly sleep - an hour or two;
I can't eat much and this is why-
You know exactly what to do.

The movie in my mind is blue -
As June runs into warm July
I think of little else but you.

But is it love? And is it true?
Who cares? This much I can't deny;
You know exactly what to do;
I think of little else but you.

What a beautiful photo, Maud

OP posts:
ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 02/04/2011 22:25

Which? The looking back or the dinner party? More are (a mon avis) utter joy. Sadly, I couldn't find a picture of Margaret actually handing over the Plato.

So, you're really going then?

::Collapses::

What's the latest on TwigBoy?

SupermassiveLBD · 02/04/2011 22:31

I've just been looking at the sequence surrounding the ''hiair upon the shoulders'' pics. A very nice secondary bonus from Spiro's hard work.
One long from start to finish.

Maud, lots of those lines in that wonderful contribution of yours bring to mind screenshots I have seen. But I am too lazy to hunt them down, so I'll just play them over in my mind

SupermassiveLBD · 02/04/2011 22:36

It's RH3 episode 7, if anyone's interested. No, of course you aren't.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 02/04/2011 22:39

Quite, Massive. It would be very suitable for the line-by-line treatment but I lack the energy. Suffice to say that this and this would have to be in there somewhere!

::wibble::

::Goes back to look at those pics again, to be sure they are the correct choice, ahem::

::wibble::

How goes it on the ile tropicale? Life must seem extremely quiet (in a mostly good way?) now that your guests have gorn.

SupermassiveLBD · 02/04/2011 22:44

Life is fine on the tropical isle, indeed, Maud, thanks for asking. I am appreciating what 'me' time I get, a million times more, after not having so much.

@ the lovely Mr Thornton pics.

SupermassiveLBD · 02/04/2011 22:46

Oh, I missed the throat kissing one, may as well have a wibble at that while I'm at it.

Golly it's gone very hot in here all of a sudden

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 02/04/2011 22:51

::Looks again at Mr Porter and his thoracic exploits::

::Faints::

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 02/04/2011 22:52

And of course I'm always interested in dear sweet Guy especially when he's had a wash.

SupermassiveLBD · 02/04/2011 22:55

Do you know which lesson that one comes in, in our educational DVD for partners of mature, intellectual and extremely discerning ladies?

Intermediate or Advanced?

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 02/04/2011 22:57

::Whispers::

If it was up to me, it would be part of Basic Training. Speaking as a very mature, intellectual and extremely discerning laydee.

SupermassiveLBD · 02/04/2011 23:02

There are one or two instances when Guy really does appear to have a singularly sweet smile. It's deceptive, I know. Sad

But you can't help thinking 'what if'

SupermassiveLBD · 02/04/2011 23:04

If that's basic training, Maud, however are we going to get a certificate for the more advanced section of the course then?

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 02/04/2011 23:06

Indeed. Whatever Guy's defects, they're certainly not aesthetic.

And now I must go to bed. Sweet tropical dreams. Is it Mothers' Day in the tropics tomorrow? Are the Superboys likely to remember, if so?

SupermassiveLBD · 02/04/2011 23:07

A Certain Smile II

SupermassiveLBD · 02/04/2011 23:09

No, it's not Mother's Day here tomorrow, we use the American one instead! But happy Mother's Day to you, in advance. I hope Girl spoils you rotten.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 02/04/2011 23:12

And now, I really do bid you good night.

SupermassiveLBD · 02/04/2011 23:13

No particular reason to include it , but this I like Grin

SupermassiveLBD · 02/04/2011 23:16

And goodnight from me to anyone else out there. Happy Mother's Day for tomorrow!

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 02/04/2011 23:17

::Still reliving her youth on YT::

Well, that reminds me. When we were unpacking the artworks, we forgot the previously undiscovered work by John William Waterhouse.
