Well, this should guarantee us some visitors if it comes up on 'Most Active'.

one for the mantelpiece

Ok, the next 2 aren't John Standring, but it would be rude not to...

yummy!

Santander alert! Have never actually listened to the advert before but have come over all unnecessary since I heard him say "we believe in rewarding our customers" :o

PassTheTwiglets · 26/03/2011 22:21

And while we're on the subject of Cold Feet

Oh put it away love, you'll catch your death of cold...

DumSpiroSpero · 26/03/2011 22:23

I've found some new pics

I agree, Twiggy. We need some sort of fig leaf emoticon to block those awful speedos from view. This is the appropriate attire for a gentleman of taste or, better still, this.

::Joins Small on the chaise longoo and fans self vigorously, as perhaps the cooling draught will also be good for Small's gout tendonitis::

DumSpiroSpero · 26/03/2011 22:31

Right, I'm off to watch the other DVD we've got out - may pop in later depending on how the phone is holding up!

Otherwise, sweet dreams!

Spiro, not sure that link worked? It just led me to the main TV page from one of the Military Intelligence sites, is that right?

Maud, some lovely besuited twiglets there!

Re. chase longoo, I meant to say earlier that my Problem Word is 'epitome'. Every time I see it, I hear "eppy-toam".

DumSpiroSpero · 26/03/2011 22:35

It should be an image link via Bing to Richard Armitage Online - it's photos of him in Casualty about 10 years ago!

I have just realised that we're losing an hour's sleep tonight, so am off for an early night with the gardening pages of the Saturday papers.

::wears middle aged badge with pride::

I leave you with . Good night!

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 26/03/2011 22:39

Spiro - the link took me to Bing but denied me access to RAO.

Niiiight!

TheSmallPrint · 27/03/2011 11:07

Morning ladies.

Maud, gout could be the issue if it were a virtual complaint considering the gallons of Gizzy and polish cordial downed on this thread Grin!

I take it you have all coped with the clock changes this morning?

PassTheTwiglets · 27/03/2011 11:52

Morning! I loved the clocks change. I woke up at 10am (it was my turn for a lie-in) and suddenly it was 11am and an hour of the day was already gone, woohoo! Pre-children, I used to think this was a bad thing :) We are off to the beach for a picnic now. Hopefully will come back with two tired children!

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 27/03/2011 12:20

Morning or afternoon in newspeak)! But I have to pretend the clocks haven't changed, in order to echo Small's sentiment of yesterday. !

TheSmallPrint · 27/03/2011 13:33

We have spent the morning watching smallboys footie team win the last match of the season - yay! It is indeed a beautiful morning I'd love to be on the beach with a huge fleece.

DumSpiroSpero · 27/03/2011 15:29

Afternoon peeps! Rare Sunday 'at home' today so we've been pottering round town this morning. Went to a new takeaway noodle bar and sat on the beach eating pad thai. Have taken DD to 2 parks and walked along the seafront. Now time for tea, Times & 40 winks!

How's the foot, Small? Did you take a deckchair to the footie?!

TheSmallPrint · 27/03/2011 16:00

How come you are all near the sea? Envy

No I hobbled around the pitch yelling like a fish wife.

DumSpiroSpero · 27/03/2011 16:38

Ouch! You definitely get bonus Mummy brownie points for that. Speaking of which, am off to kitchen to make some with DD in a minute as she's got a friend round for tea after school tomorrow. I'm dreading it tbh, although the little girl is very nice and I expect they'll be playing in DD's bedroom and I'll hardly see them. I am not a 'natural' with small children I must admit.

Hello, ladies, just passing through Sad

DumSpiroSpero · 27/03/2011 16:47

Hi Massive - how goes it with the guests?

OP posts:
ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 27/03/2011 16:49

I don't live near the sea, boo hoo, although we can get to it quite quickly from here.

How are you bearing up after your prolonged hostess duty, Massive? Your friends here are concerned about you.

Tee hee at yelling like a fish wife. It's seldom never like that at Girl's ballet.

PassTheTwiglets · 27/03/2011 16:49

We aren't near a nice beach though, Small - some of it is estuary, rather than proper sea and lots of the beaches are muddy/stony, rather than sandy. Or the sandy ones are a bit, dare I say, chavvy. We are about half an hour's drive away from the nearest beach. I think Spiro's is a proper beach, unlike ours!

Spiro, I'm good with other small children but I'm just with my own :)

PassTheTwiglets · 27/03/2011 16:50

oops, missed a word out there - meant to say I'm rubbish with my own.

SupermassiveLBD · 27/03/2011 16:51

In the home straight now, Spiro. Thanks for asking.

While I'm lurking ''waiting for my potatoes to boil'' I thought I'd share this: totally off-topic, but it gave me a laugh in a bleak moment.

Must dash

SupermassiveLBD · 27/03/2011 16:53

Oh sorry hello there Maud and Twigs, didn't see you there. Really must dash now, in true Benny Hill tradition my dumplings will be boiling over...

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 27/03/2011 16:54

So, Massive is racing for the finish line?

Twiggy - Where (very roughly) do you live? I think I have got it wrong by about 100 miles!

DumSpiroSpero · 27/03/2011 16:59

Grin Massive - it's tomorrow you get your Gizzy time house back isn't it?

We have 'proper' beach, albeit stony, just over 10 minutes walk from our house although we drove into town first today and sat by the Pier.

Tbh it's very easy to lose appreciation for it when it's on your doorstep - we don't generally spend time there much at all, but it's nice to know it's there iykwim?

As for small children - they just make me feel uncomfortable and I always feel that I don't know how to speak with them, which I realise muist sound really weird as I have one myself, but that's just me. Some children I do 'click' with to be fair, and I suspect this little girl will be ok, but just the thought of having a 'strange' child in my house makes me nervous - probably because it means I have to behave like a grown-up - d'oh!
