I have a friend on FB who posts things like this

'The Girl you just called fat? She has been starving herself. The Boy you just called stupid? He has a learning disability & studies over 4hrs a night. The Girl you just called ugly? She spends hours putting makeup on hoping people will like her. The Boy you just tripped? He is abused enough at home. Put this as your status if your[sic] against bullying. Taking A Stand Against Bullying!!!'

Why does she think we have spent our day insulting people?

These posts make me cringe.

It's only a post. No point getting so wound up. Just 'click and hide'

MaryAnnSingleton · 15/03/2011 17:48

yes, but they are nauseous

mappandlucia · 15/03/2011 17:53

Click and hide is the sensible option, but I like guessing what tripe will be next.

From last week:

'As a parent, I think about my children day and night. I love them in a way that they will never understand. I will be there for them when no one else will. I would take a bullet, jump in front of a train, or ask God to take me instead of them. If you have a child/children that you love as much as I love mine, post this on your wall'

FFS!!

Those status posts make me want to stab myself

LadyOfTheManor · 15/03/2011 17:58

Or:

"If you love your mum blah blah blah"

"If you know someone who has cancer blah blah blah".

I love my mother and care for cancer victims, I don't however care to put it on my FB...nor shall I be victimised for not doing it.

mappandlucia · 15/03/2011 17:58

OK, I'll stop in a minute. But here's another one of her gems..

'I'm a little boy with glasses, the one they call a geek; a little girl who never smiles cause I've got braces on my teeth. I'm that kid on every playground who is always chosen last; you don't have to be my friend, but is it too much to ask: don't laugh at me, don't call me names, don't get your pleasure from my pain? In God's eyes we're all the same. RE-POST for bully awareness week!♥'

Bet she sends loads of those 'send this to 8 goddesses you know' type e-mails too.

I never ever repost that drivel,OP that one has been posted by several of my friends in the last 24 hours...what good does it do...no practical use what so ever!

mappandlucia · 15/03/2011 18:05

Exactly, what good does posting this do?

'......My prayer is that in 2011 a cure [for cancer] will be found. Will you post it? Just one hour. Do it for all of us.'

Er, that's a big help.

Donate some money to Cancer Research and post about that, you numpty.

I like some of the jokey ones though. Like the 'alert, all women out there, this is REAL. If a man comes to your door and asks you to show him your tits, don't do it!!!! He only wants to see your tits. I didn't get a warning and was one of the unlucky few. Please repost this and warn other women!!!!' one.

mappandlucia · 15/03/2011 18:34

I like those ones too.
