Morning!

Twigs my 'crush' was more about how cool, in control but dangerous she was - far removed from me!
btw I can't do eyeliner either.

The jacket was in the sale rack in Wallis concession in Debs, I'm sure they have more in store than online. I wasn't going to get it (thought I might look a bit mutton) but sisters convinced me and then Mr Small. Whether I'll have the guts to actually wear it out is anyones guess.

Phoenix have you been dreaming about <a class="break-all" href="http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=meandrichard.files.wordpress.com/2010/07/car-repair.jpg&imgrefurl=meandrichard.wordpress.com/2010/07/28/jubilation-celebration/&usg=__A7qF2zN5XH6w0xn3DbMXZUEtb94=&h=255&w=400&sz=19&hl=en&start=44&zoom=1&tbnid=erZri6CJVm_m2M:&tbnh=133&tbnw=209&ei=YKN8TfjPDYTe4waJmPDnCA&prev=/images%3Fq%3Drichard%2Barmitage%2Bjohn%2Bporter%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DG%26biw%3D1097%26bih%3D852%26tbs%3Disch:1&itbs=1&iact=rc&dur=266&oei=WKN8TcuECMu4hAeXp4DsBg&page=3&ndsp=20&ved=1t:429,r:6,s:44&tx=94&ty=42" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">this AA man?

TheSmallPrint · 13/03/2011 10:59

Any more instalments Spiro?

PassTheTwiglets · 13/03/2011 11:17

Ros was very cool but tbh Hermione Norris irritates me - her idea of acting is to do lots of slow blinking, for some reason.

How lovely of MrSmall to show an interest in what you're wearing - I don't think DrTwiglets would care a jot! I once challenged him to remember what my wedding dress looked like and he couldn't answer beyond "it was white" :) Definitely wear it - it looks really classy to me, not mutton at all. Would look fabulous with jeans and spike heels!

Oh, YUM at your AA man.

Btw, I think Spiro said Monday was the next chapter? Not that we are pressuring you, Spiro :) I think Chapter 7 is the one where John has a dalliance and some thumb porn with a certain MrsTwiglets, before getting back to the plot, yes? Wink

DumSpiroSpero · 13/03/2011 12:05

Erm, no Twigs - but I can write a special something just for you on the side as it were Wink

TheSmallPrint · 13/03/2011 12:29

OK I will venture out when it's dark. If I get laughed at it will all be your fault Wink

Monday? Not sure I can wait that long!

SupermassiveLBD · 13/03/2011 14:30

Afternoon, ladies. You have been busy this morning! Sorry I haven?t been able to get in, firstly because of a bit of RL, then because I had been taken prisoner by a very pretty soldier man.

Yes, Porter has got me as you said he would. Funnily enough, Maud, the violence doesn?t seem nearly as bad as it does in the vids. Maybe because it?s all quite fleeting in the general run of the episode.

I can?t believe there are only the three hour-long episodes though. I want more!

Also more wanted, of course, of Spiro?s story. Grin at Twig?s special side-plot. Would you have any more luck than Rosie, do you think? JS seems to have Carol blinkers on. Maybe you could slip a few slugs of Polish cordial in his pints of bitter at the Fleece. Though you wouldn?t be that devious, I am sure.

I loved the thud missile, last night and the idea of Barry White in surround-sound booming out at Spiro Mansions. If it was me, with my luck it?d have happened when Mr M was around too.

I think that jacket of yours is ageless Small, and you definitely couldn?t be mutton dressed as lamb because I have got one and you are younger than me, I know. And no one has run cringing from me or pointed fingers in the street and laughed. So far. And I wear it with skinny-ish jeans and spike heels.

I do like Ros no end, I wish I was as capable and kick-ass as her, but what I notice about Hermione Norris is she has rather strange eyes. I can?t quite decide what it is about them. Anyone else noticed?

And talking of eyes, here?s another that can?t do eyeliner. I am so relieved. I thought I was the only one in existence.

Off to put sugar into the petrol tank so I can call out that AA man. He can check under my bonnet any day Grin

Warning the Spiro household is in quarantine following an unexpected outbreak of SMFV!

Claude is on his way Grin

PassTheTwiglets · 13/03/2011 17:44

The following statement has just been issued by the Department of Health:

Public Health Warning: Threat Level Orange. An outbreak of SMFV has been detected in Spiroville. All non-essential personnel should retreat to a safe distance and don protective clothing and masks at once. If in doubt, you should seek assistance from your commanding officer

PassTheTwiglets · 13/03/2011 17:54

Massive, we knew he would get you :) There's no avoiding it really, is there? I enjoyed the first one far more than the others though. Much as it was probably more upsetting with the hostage girlie, it was lovely to see his gentleness with her and it was a more human story than the others, which veered dangerously close to Boys And Their Toys territory.

ROFL at "check under my bonnet" :o

PassTheTwiglets · 13/03/2011 18:19

ALERT! ALERT! SMFV THREAT LEVEL HAS NOW BEEN RAISED TO RED, DUE TO REPORTS THAT IT HAS SPREAD TO THE SOUTH-EAST. TAKE ALL NECESSARY PRECAUTIONS.

Twigs - you're not helping...Grin

SupermassiveLBD · 13/03/2011 19:01

Oh dear. Doffs gas mask and addresses the camera earnestly:

Fortunately I have been vaccinated agaisnt the current outbreak of SMFV by the imminent arrival of house-guests and subsequent impounding of the Telly, DVD player etc. I have however secreted my little CD player in a safe location so audiobooks can be played, if not new ones delivered to my door.

Meanwhile my anti-footie device has spontaneously combusted due to over-use today.

Yes again, ladies you were so right and I am seriously in luurve with JP.

PassTheTwiglets · 13/03/2011 19:02

Well at that price it would be rude not to... :) Had to come clean though, as accidentally put it in DrTwiglets' amazon account instead of my own :o Oh, the shame...

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 13/03/2011 19:09

Evening, ladies. I am so glad that Claude is going to visit the Villa Spiro.

Twiggy - Was that you I saw on the Utter Filth thread, too? Have you ever seen Big Cook Little Cook's late night ladporn programme? I did once and it took me a fortnight to recover.

I rather love eyeliner but can only cope with the felt pen types - Clarins does one that is idiot me-proof. Am very envious of Small and Massive rocking the Ros look. I look more like Connie.

I will break my own rule about not making personal remarks by observing that Ros' eyes are farther apart than is perhaps the norm and consequently she can look a bit reptilian.

Just heard this on the radio. .

SupermassiveLBD · 13/03/2011 19:25

Oh Twiglets, what a disaster Grin Did you think up some plausible excuse, or did you just have to come out and admit it?

Maud, fret not, I only look like Ros from the back, so no one can see the face, and if she were kneeling down, as my whole legs are shorter than her thighs.

As for eyeliner my problem is I am blind as a bat without the pince nez. Which rather puts paid to anything involving the naked eye.

I also sampled the Diana Ross version of that song. I used to like her but she sounded so lightweight in comparison to the great Miss Holiday.

OP posts:
ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 13/03/2011 19:53

Oh dear, Twiggy. I crossed posts with the revelation of your Amazon faux pas. How has the good Doctor Twiglets taken it?

Massive - I too am somewhat ophthalmically challenged, but find that holding a good mirror at the end of my nose and careful wielding of the Clarins felt pen does the job (or maybe I'm just too blind to see how awful my paintwork looks?) La Ross in Lady Sings The Blues is alright, but really one needs .

::sobs::

DumSpiroSpero · 13/03/2011 19:55

Are you a jazz fan then Maud? My dad is really into it, my favourite is Ella Fitzgerald, mainly cos I've mostly listened to her stuff. Should make an effort with BH though - her voice is so distinctive.

I will have to investigate the Clarins eyeliner next time I'm in town. I prefer the felt-tip ones but am making do with a pencil type at the mo.

TheSmallPrint · 13/03/2011 19:56

Evening all.

I am quite excited about Being Human to tonight, it's the last inthe series. Maud will you be watching from behind the sofa?

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 13/03/2011 20:04

Spiro - I'm a fan in that I like what I know (IYSWIM) but there is loads of stuff that has passed me by completely. A friend introduced me to Billie Holliday through Lady Sings The Blues. I also like swing and (as discussed in previous Academies) am a big fan of Francis Albert Sinatra. At the risk of sounding like a hopelessly boring old fart, I do rather hanker after the days when songs had proper lyrics which you could actually hear. Much as I like to watch Guy strut his leather-clad stuff to it,

supermassive black hole
supermassive black hole
supermassive black hole
supermassive black hole

isn't exactly Shakespeare, is it?

Small - I might have been watching, but the telly has just gone on the blink (again, sigh) and I'm now feeling extremely bleurgh and think I will go to bed. Tell me tomorrow what I missed leaving out the eviscerations and gory deaths.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 13/03/2011 20:06

::worries about being in the same age bracket as Spiro's dad, lovely man as he is::

DumSpiroSpero · 13/03/2011 20:12

the days when songs had proper lyrics which you could actually hear

Ikwym, although I like most styles of music including hip hop & r&b and am frequently very grateful you can't make out the lyrics in some songs when dd wanders in and I've got the chart show on!

My dad actually went to an Ella Fitzgerald concert in the early 70's when he was living in Australia. They buggered up the seating and he and about half a dozen others ended up sitting on fold up chairs in the wings for the entire performance!

TheSmallPrint · 13/03/2011 20:17

You can watch on iplayer tomorrow Maud, but tell menif you are going to so that I don't spoilit for you.

So still not aquainted with our lovely Drover then? Poor Maud, no wonder you're feeling bleurgh. Or was it too much Gizzy?

I am a fan of pretty much all musical types except Fix You .

DumSpiroSpero · 13/03/2011 20:18

I doubt it Maud, my dad's 73 in a couple of weeks Grin

Besides, age is no barrier to enjoying good music.

I am debating taking him to see this in June. We'd both love it but the only way I can justify the cost is to make it a joint birthday/fathers day pressie!

TheSmallPrint · 13/03/2011 20:22

Hmm my space bar seems to be on strike.
