Morning, ladies. I am feeling your WW pain. I am in the happy position of having lost my excess baggage, because I was too caught up in coming on here and thudding to spare a thought even for chocolate. But now of course with guests to cater for, the fridge is full of delights.

I am trying to keep my mind on other forms of gratification but every so often I lose my concentration and find myself shovelling a large slice of gateau or a spoonful of luxury icecream into my unprotesting gob...Sad

Good Morning Massive!

You've manage to sneak away for a minute then?

If only other forms of gratification were guaranteed at the end of it, I think I could probably give up chocolate forever...

Not so sure about wine though Grin

PassTheTwiglets · 21/03/2011 12:11

Hummus & pitta sounds very healthy, Spiro - and yum (I love hummous!) Way too many points on WW though.

Hi Massive! Thsi thread was working for me in the same way for a fair while but then I sleipped back into my old ways.

Small, goodness, I could never have biscuits in the house and not eat them! You must be Superwoman for even resisting them for a second! The only way I can do it is to just not have high-calorie food in the house. The kids aren't best pleased though :)

I guzzle enormous amoints of Coke Zero and whilst I sometimes worry that it's unhealthy (aspartame) it's the only way I can do it. I am actually thinking of having some hynotherapy for it but the one I had lined up sounded too weird and silly.

Do I win the award for Greatest Amount of Tyypos in One Post? I never proof-read, sorry...

SupermassiveLBD · 21/03/2011 12:13

Hi Spiro. Just got a couple of hours to myself and then the onslaught starts again. Ladies' tea-party and later dinner for six Sad

As for gratification, it's amazing how nice it can be, just looking. Grin but like I say, I keep getting distracted.

Hello Twiggy!

DumSpiroSpero · 21/03/2011 12:17

I had lost half an stone due to lusting after our man, but suspect it has all gone back on (haven't actually dared to weigh myself).

Have just realised have got chicken to use up from roast at the weekend so am having it in wrap with salad, bag of low fat crisps, fat free yogurt - still not bad I s'pose!

SupermassiveLBD · 21/03/2011 12:22

Trust Spiro to woman up and cut to the chase, while I was coyly cloaking it all in ponce-tastic euphemisms...

Good morning ladies. I could never do WW. I have a low boredom threshold, which would mean I fell off the wagon very quickly, hence the decision never to get on board. But I can sometimes muster some willpower - I have had no chocolate thus far in Lent ::polishes halo:: and have just bought some because it was BOGOF and put it in the cupboard with nary a nibble. It'll be my reward at Easter.

Mind you, if we're thinking of nibbles...

DumSpiroSpero · 21/03/2011 12:26

Grin at Massive!

Well, it's the truth. I went through a phase just before Christmas when I realised that if I ever saw him in the street I couldn't possibly approach him and attempt to chat him up, as I'd be too worried about what I looked like.

So under the heading of 'anything can happen' I figured I ought to do something to rectify the situation.

DumSpiroSpero · 21/03/2011 12:32

Ok you can stop phoning the little men in white coats and come back now....

SupermassiveLBD · 21/03/2011 12:40

Spiro, at least yours involved conscious thought! Mine was more your full-on 'can't eat, can't sleep' situation but I did manage to wrestle it down, tie it to a tree and confine it to Gizzy, I suppose Blush

Now if I had to give him up for Lent, I wouldn't last thirty seconds.

Maud's Diet Clinic

Tips of the Day

Number One: Because they are baked and not fried, Twiglets are better for you than crisps.

DumSpiroSpero · 21/03/2011 12:52

Oh, I've had a few nights like that as well Massive Blush - usually when the BWWMD goes off just before bedtime Grin!

Just had a really horrible thought - giving up Mumsnet for Lent...

giving up Mumsnet for Lent
Some people have actually done so, I believe.

I suppose all the squirming burns off a few calories, too...

Really have to go now Sad

??? Shock ???

Have I missed something?

DumSpiroSpero · 21/03/2011 13:03

Hope tea & dinner go ok. See you later perhaps.

DumSpiroSpero · 21/03/2011 13:11

I think I've found

DumSpiroSpero · 21/03/2011 13:21

And

Really must go and do something useful now.

TheSmallPrint · 21/03/2011 13:30

That's a good one Spiro, he looks so young in that, when was Cold Feet made again?

And Maud, a bit of nibbling on those twiglets would help any diet!

I'm afraid Our Man hasn't made me lose any weight either by lusting or hoping. The only thing that will help is if I stop eating bread, chips and other carbs, which - lets face it - ain't ever going to happen!

TheSmallPrint · 21/03/2011 13:31

If he lived next door though, it might have some effect Wink.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 21/03/2011 13:32

Well, really. ::fans self:: I now don't feel any need to watch Cold Feet as we've probably got the gist from that.

Does the BWWMD really have a destructive effect if detonated just before bedtime? .

DumSpiroSpero · 21/03/2011 14:04

Maud that one soooo works for me as well - haven't time to watch it all now as have Lucas on in the other room waiting to keep an eye on me while I'm doing my ironing!

Cold Feet was about 2002 I think. He's a bit of a lad in it and not a really major character but it does have some rather nice bits.

I had it out of the library and am thinking I might buy it - it's £5.93 on Amazon at the moment and it's probably worth it I think. Is definitely worth a watch.

DumSpiroSpero · 21/03/2011 14:05

That's because you are sane clearly a bit less daft than me! Grin
