Time for a new specialism, methinks!

Thanks, Twigs. I didn't realise you could do that.

Maybe not a good idea to take Lucas along with you tonight then. You don't want to traumatise your niece like little Tiff in Eastenders when she saw her grandma Carol with Connor, through the letterbox Shock

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 19/02/2011 16:47

I could not deal with 11 pm bedtime - 7.30 in our house!

DumSpiroSpero · 19/02/2011 17:23

Wow - good luck with that Twigs! How old is DN?

Incriminating evidence transferred to memory stick and gave chip to H - apparently it didnt have what he needed on there anyway Angry

Afternoon all, just been to see Yogi, DCs liked it, I found it a bit tedious.

SupermassiveLBD · 19/02/2011 17:40

been to see Yogi, DCs liked it, I found it a bit tedious.

RA wasn't in it then, I take it, Small?

Spiro, I hope you got no funny remarks aimed at you re chip, phone etc.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 19/02/2011 17:55

Have just been out in the drizzle gardening. I looooove my garden almost as much as I love Mr Thornton.

Ok, we need Spiro's verdict on Gnomeo and Juliet for the Yogi v Gnomeo playoffs.

Spiro - I agree with Massive. Does your DH allow you to inspect every aspect of his life?

::butts out too::

DumSpiroSpero · 19/02/2011 17:57

Oh I got a mammoth strop - accusations if. 'keeping secrets' yada, yada, yada...nothing I wasn't expecting.

I'm an only child and whilst I'm not selfish with things I am very much so when it comes to privacy and having my own space - there's nothing furtive about it - I just like to know I can go 'somewhere' and be totally me, not someone's wife, mother, daughter etc...so shoot me!

Anyway, shame about Yogi, Small. H is taking DD to see it on Tuesday - must admit I didn't fancy it.

Gnomeo & Juliet was brilliant. Had lots of little 'grown up' references in it to other films & tv scenes, including a Lucas/American Beauty bit and an ending borrowed from 'Grease'. Also, something for fans of...

North and South

Cold Feet

Robin Hood

My dad is probably the only person who really 'gets' me tbh. I think DD will when she's older and I have one new friend in RL who seems to be on a similar wavelength. I have lots of other lovely friends but deep down I would like to be a lot more free-spirited and eccentric than I'm 'allowed' to be on a day-to- day basis and they are all quite 'normal' Grin

I wish I'd found pics of the other scenes I described - I was crying with laughter at the rose petals bit - DD thought I was nuts!

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 19/02/2011 18:24

Spiro - I have a sibling but still feel like that. Life (I sometimes think) is like whichever Disney fairy tale it is where our heroine is walking through the forest and the branches of the trees are reaching out to grab her.

I looove that scene in American Beauty. We're having family film night tonight - West Side Story.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 19/02/2011 18:35

Ladies. I have something to share with you. It's nice. In fact it's just peachy.

DumSpiroSpero · 19/02/2011 18:43

Random but very much appreciated Maud!

I love West Side Story - think at 6 and a half my DD is probably a bit young for it (although I can't have been much older first time I saw it). She has seen 'America' on YouTube though and loved that Grin

Wish life was more like this little Disney number!

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 19/02/2011 18:47

Well it's very sculptural, isn't it? And tres tres artistique.

That link took me to a playlist - which one did you mean? I'm hoping GardenGirl will like West Side Story as she (mostly) enjoyed Romeo and Juliet the other day.

DumSpiroSpero · 19/02/2011 18:50

Some day my prince will come...

OP posts:
SupermassiveLBD · 19/02/2011 18:53

If they have something called Football - the Musical my lot would watch it. But not tonight as real football is on.

I am hiding in the back room avec my trusty lappy.

Maud, that link of yours was the absolute, ahem, end. Grin

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 19/02/2011 18:55

Oh, Spiro. That is my favourite Disney song too, .

Want some Polish cordial?

SupermassiveLBD · 19/02/2011 18:55

Some day my prince will come...

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 19/02/2011 18:56

Les Dieux du Stade, Massive. Just google the term and wait to be, ahem, amazed.

::still blushing at the memory::

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 19/02/2011 18:57

Oh really, Massive. You do lower the tone.

SupermassiveLBD · 19/02/2011 19:05

Shall I ask MN to take that last comment of mine off? It was rather rude of me. Blush

Mind you, talking of rude, re that googling recommendation, I should never have clicked on the 'images' button

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 19/02/2011 19:12

Nah, it's cheeky-rude rather than obscene-rude, I reckon.

I knew you'd google it! It makes the famous WI one (or the one produced by our local fire station) seem very tame indeed. I'd been aware of it for years and seen it mentioned on French tv but never actually seen it until today. I thought it was saucy rather than "yikes" but, then, I deliberately didn't click on the images which looked as if they might be a shade too oooh la la.

DumSpiroSpero · 19/02/2011 19:21

That was what I was trying to link to Maud, obviously didn't want to do it on my phone.

If they have something called Football - the Musical my lot would watch it. But not tonight as real football is on.

Feeling your pain, Massive.

OP posts:
SupermassiveLBD · 19/02/2011 19:23

Good. I won't link to Spiro's back-of-the-Moscow-taxi pic then...

I suppose that despite what you might think from my penchant for the double-entendre, I have quite a low yikes threshold.
I was so glad I hadn't got my pince-nez on.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 19/02/2011 19:42

I'm much the same, Massive. I am very fond of the double-entendre and the Actress and the Bishop, but that's probably because really, deep down, I do think they're Extremely Rude.

TheSmallPrint · 19/02/2011 19:52

Evening, yes we have had the football as well , we had the opportunity to see Gnomeo for free but DS didn't want to go (think he thought it would be girly-yuk).

Spiro, I think all of us with family responsibilities feel the way you describe. With a slighlty possessive/insecure DH it can make that feeling worse and you feel guilty even about innocent things.

Massive no offence taken here with you double entendre, it just makes me laugh Grin.
