How do I hide a friend?

I used to be able to do it but now there only seems to be the option to remove them; I can unhide people but not hide them

Click on the 'x' remove button at the side of the persons name and you get an option drop down list.

You can either hide that particular post, or all by that person.

I don't know why I never tried that (since that used to be how you did it - I suppose because I thought it would delete them.)
