The Hobbit cast - be still my beating heart!

Anyone seen who is in the cast for the new Hobbit film...

Richard Armitage, Aiden Turner, James Nesbitt (swoon, swoonity mcswoon)

and rumours of David Tennant and Orlando Bloom.

Oh my goodness, I feel a renewed interest in J.R.R Tolkein coming on

I think it's as much as anything that I never expected to find myself fancying characters from The Hobbit Confused. It's Just Not Right, somehow, like fancying Winnie the Pooh, or something!

Jackie, I just Googled it and he is 6ft 1! He spent a lot of time in a trench, apparently.

You'd have thought so, Small... But the interview I read said that he spent his time permanently looking up, as either he was in a trench or the other actors were on a platform.

Agree Maud, shame it's not something requiring a little less prosthetic 'enhancement'. And what a terrible shame to make those lovely 6ft +s seem so small .

Booking my tickets for The Hobbit right now then. It was one of my favourite books, much easier to digest than the rambling Lord of the Rings (why didn't they use eagles to take them there in the first place?)

Anyway, having just sat through Gnomeo + Juliet when I really wanted to see True Grit I'll happily take dts to this. For them of course.

So selfless of you, TwoIfBySea. My own offspring is currently reading the Hobbit (a week after she had it read to her) so clearly she is the grip of an obsession and I will have to take her to see the film.
