Road to hell...

I got stuck for 2hrs at m25 this pm because of what must have been an awful crash at m25/a13 near dartford tunnel. I had a basic nappy bag but it's got me thinking... What else should I have had with me bearing in mind I couldn't get off the road for a shop. Its unusual but as we also go up m1 a bit and that can also be dodgy i wondered what others do. Had a helicopter been required I might have been there much longer. Has any one else been thru similar and if so do u now keep extra items in car or with u and if so what are they?

Nappies
Anti bac gel
Ready to use milk
Water

Does anyone also know if whoever they were at the crash made it out? I sincerely hope so. Wishing you well tonight whoever u are.....

I don't usually plan for helicopters blocking my way, no.

I'd be on a good day if I had a nappy, some wipes and my cash card.

I always have a bottle of water and bananas.

Dcs take the piss. They call it the Jungle Run.

Warm clothes
Blanket
Tub to wee in
Snacks
Book
Couple of toys
Sensible shoes
Sunscreen (in summer!)
Phone charger
Torch

think that's about it?

sorry... did you have a baby with you? hence the ready to use milk?

if so then I guess I would add blanket, change of clothes just i case, long lasting snack food if old enough

if it was just you... get a grip! it was 2 hours Grin

My mother plans for this sort of thing. I find it madness. Where there's a will there's a way is my motto...

Guitargirl · 11/02/2011 18:49

It really depends on how old your children are. A packet of jaffa cakes can go a long way imo.

Ha! Yeah, should have said. Dd is 10wks. Good suggestions!

Sorry, feeding. My father said I should have planned better.... Frankly couldn't think what to take with me. Got no suggestions off him, guess he didn't usually drive me about!!!!

older people always want to prepare for everything that might never happen it is a waste of life imo.

I was stationary on the Dartford Bridge this morning from 10:45am to about 12:30!! Luckily I have a bag of food to keep my ds a fed but it was awful!!! Not sure what happened though?

ChippingInSmellyCheeseFreak · 11/02/2011 23:29

thisisyesterday - it was 2 hours this time - it can be overnight. What's the harm in being prepared so you're not cold and miserable? Hmm

Hob - don't you be ringing me wanting an emergeny biscuit delivery!! Grin

The inclusion of anti-bac gel in your list says it all. Chill...
