Do you write to thank your host after a drinks party?

Always do after dinner and lunch, but some people say it's not necessary after drinks.

No one would ever criticise you for saying thank you.

I would text and say HAd a great time , thanks very much

Dont write thankyous for dinner either

I always hand-write for dinner parties, less formal occasions I might email. Some drinks parties can be quite posh though.

I hand write for everything. Not that I ever get invited to drinks or dinner round here. But for other kindnesses.

I think I must not move in the right circles. I've never been to a dinner or drinks party where I thought it was necessary to write a written thank you. Saying 'thanks for a lovely evening' as I leave normally seems enough, or at most a text the next day.

Not strictly necessary but a phone call or a nice postcard might well be appreciated.

Yes, I write a thank you note - be it supper or a drinks party. I probably would be lazy and send a text for a girs' lunch though.
