Nicole Kidman has another baby

I can't keep up ..seriously

So she and Tom adopted two - not sure who looks after these now.

Then am I right in thinking she has another daughter Sunday - she was pregnant with her iirc.

Now she has another daughter that is biologically hers and her DHs but they used a surrogate.

I really don't understand.

Wasn't there lots of rumours when she was pregnant before that she was only pretending to be pregnant. This does make me wonder if those rumours were actually true.

lucykate · 17/01/2011 23:34

obviously a memo going round hollywood these days, all babies to be born via surrogate.

sharbie · 17/01/2011 23:35

bizarre isn't it - they really do live in another world.

I think she had at least one ectopic pregnancy. IIRC she thought she was unable to conceive with Tom hence the adopted children then she went on to have Sunday Roast Rose but as you say maybe not all as clear as they would like us to believe.
disclaimer I haven't read any sleb magazines for a long time but I do have an interest in ectopic pregnancy which is why she is on my radar Smile

Meglet · 17/01/2011 23:41

Apparently, they used a 'Gestational carrier'.

DuelingFanjo · 17/01/2011 23:42

story

congratulations to them both :)

IIRC didn't Nicole Kidman have some difficulty getting pregnant? A surrogate seems like a good idea if that's the case.

BALD · 17/01/2011 23:50

I have it on good authority that the baby's name is

Tuesday Dinner

flippinggorgeous · 17/01/2011 23:59

Faith Margaret. A little sister for Sunday Rose. Good luck to them I say, at last she has found happiness after being married to that nutjob Tom Cruise.

Pingpong · 18/01/2011 00:02

'gestational carrier' makes me Grin though. Can't decide whether it is a kangaroo type pouch for keeping a baby warm or a posh shopping bag.

ThisFeelsWeird · 18/01/2011 00:29

"Our gestational carrier" is offensive on so many levels. It's like something from The Handmaid's Tale. Perhaps that's where they got the idea for Margaret.

A woman has grown a child inside her; nurtured and protected it, shared her hormones and antibodies, given birth and said goodbye to that little part of her. And she is referred to as a "gestational carrier". She is your child's surrogate mother FGS you spoiled, smug bast*rds. One day little Faith will want to know more about how she came into the world - wouldn't it be lovely if there was a name to go with the "gestational carrier" who made her very existence possible.

bottersnike · 18/01/2011 12:46

Well said TFW - it's a horrible phrase.

Longstocking2 · 19/01/2011 13:42

meglet lol at 'gestational carrier' an expression like they use about processed ham don't you think? Certainly that womb will has no personhood they're just a person with a room to rent. It's still just buying a baby isn't it? Will money CAN buy everything.
And how do her two older children feel? Why doesn't she live closer to them? They don't call her mum? WTF.
It's like my first adult life didn't work out so, screw it I'll buy a new one.
Celebrities are so weird.

Longstocking2 · 19/01/2011 13:43

smac lol at Sunday Roast

gramercy · 19/01/2011 13:50

I doubt whether the baby is biologically hers. Apparently Sunday Roast came from a clinic which specialises in egg donation.

Of course I wouldn't be so mean if it weren't for the fact that celebrities peddle the crap that they're this superior species with extra-special fertility and have a particular type of body which just springs back into shape 3 hours after giving birth.

onlyjuststillme · 19/01/2011 13:55

Maybe, just maybe being a celeb doesnt stop her having maternal urges. Maybe she cant carry her own child again for medical reasons and maybe we should all be saying - "Couple have a wanted child via a surragate. THANK you to the women who are willing to surrogate (I sure couldnt do it) and CONGRATS to the new parents!!"

onlyjuststillme · 19/01/2011 13:56

P.s Just because a child is born with someone elses DNA doesn't mean they cant be and wont be loved as any biological child.

gramercy · 19/01/2011 14:35

Of course not, but if only a celebrity would admit, "You know what, this baby was from egg donation; I am infertile/I am too old/I paid a great deal of money for this baby".

It's like adoption. For mere mortals the opportunity to adopt a baby is... virtually nil. But if you're a celebrity, well, hey, babies are just falling into your lap left, right and centre.

onlyjuststillme · 19/01/2011 19:42

I think it is easy to forget these are real people with real feelings.

Nicole has 2 nearly grown children who mainly reside with their father and a young girl. She obviously felt her family was incomplete.

We know she has suffered the loss of multiple pregnancies so maybe carrying another child was not an option.

Adoption is unlikely as mr urban has a recent history of addiction.

They were lucky enough to have another option. What should they have done? Turn it down because other people wouldnt like it or because they were embarrased about the wealth they have earned?

sharbie · 19/01/2011 21:54

I agree with the buying a baby scenario - it is very wrong.the elder two children don't live with either tc or nk now.
These people should think through their decisions - it is way too easy for them to get what they want.

OP posts:
onlyjuststillme · 19/01/2011 22:11

I have never seen that the older children dont live with either of their parents. It has always been my impression that they mainly live with tc ~ tc and kh have been regularly papped at soccor matches etc

Frizzbonce · 03/03/2011 19:16

BALD - I laughed my tits off!
