How to tell a child Dad doesnt want to know/see them

Hi,
Sorry if I have posted in the wrong area.

I have a friend who's 4 yr old daughter has suddenly realised she doesn't have a daddy like the other kids since starting at school.

Daughter has known that she has no daddy, but it's never been a problem until now. My friend says she is inconsolable and wants to see her dad.

Dad didn't want to know anything about the baby when mum was about 20 weeks pregnant and has never had any contact.

Dad has moved area and married and Mum is not sure if he is even at the address she might have for him.

Really not sure if there are charities, professionals that help you deal with this sort of thing but want to support my friend. How does she tell her daughter? Does she try and get hold of dad? What if Dad still doesn't want anything to do with her?

Any advice welcome
Thank you

I've always just been matter of fact about it, and emphasised how much I love her, and she's not missing out.

Not sure what else you can do really.

DD's Dad left when she was 6 weeks old, has never bothered and lives in Australia.
