well met a great guy - however he is in the army & out in afgahn ( which I didn't know)
I asked if he wanted to stay in contact for moral boost & he said the great thing about being out there he could talk to me ! and for some reason he couldnt get on msn - so the next day I got a little apology message from him which I thought was so sweet.
we got talking about tundrstorms & i said I hate them - he said I will protect you? which is kinda weird as no one not even the ex was that kind! and I hardly know him.

would he talk to me if he was not interested ? but ...my ex was in the army & i just hope that they are not all the same.

should i keep in contact?

Well, if it doesn't work out then you still have a friend. I'd see him as a friend so anything else is a bonus.

Aww, that's sweet. My friends would say that to me though, sorry. Some people are just sweet. I really would see him as a friend and if something develops then so be it.

Word of warning: do not/not count time on operations as "relationship" time IYSWIM. You know him as well as you knew him before he left, and anything since then you are a pen-friend.

Did you meet his mates/family? Are you sure he's unattached?

I hope it goes well, but do not base anything beyond friendship on emails from an operational theatre. Take it slowly, if he's really interested he can court you properly when he's in this country.

And with apologies in case I've misunderstood: do not shag him during his R&R, and never/never/never send pictures to an operational theatre that you would not be happy to have displayed on a noticeboard.
