I really really want an Iphone but just cannot justify spending about £400 + on a phone. So thinking I might get a blackberry. So tell me what more that you can do with an iphone then a blackberry.

Also if you know a cheap way of getting an iphone as still in my contract for the next year and cannot upgrade to an iphone.

Get an android phone!

onepieceoflollipop · 13/09/2010 21:27

I'm interested in this question too, but I know virtually nothing about them (and what about an ipad?)

amothersplaceisinthewrong · 13/09/2010 21:27

Dont know anything about Iphone - but have a blackberry which is my diary, address book and gets all my emails. Simple to use and synch with outlook on my PC where all my data is stored.

oopsandbabycoconuts · 13/09/2010 21:33

I have an iPhone and have had a Blackberry. I totally depends on what you want to use it for. iPhone is great for leisure use and e-mails are simple. DH preferred the BB for work e-mail as they come through instantly with the iPhone you need to check regularly or sort your phone to 'push' the e-mails through every x minutes, going online is easier on iphone. I love my iPhone and wouldn't go back to a BB. iPhone syncs your contacts from your computer and if fabbo because it also had my ipod.

newstart2010 · 13/09/2010 21:35

i have never heard of an android, how much is it? And how does it compare to an iphone?

would be good to have a phone that works well as a diary.

I know a Blackberry can survive being dropped in a full mug of hot tea! Grin

BigBadMummy · 13/09/2010 21:38

If you Re going to be emailing a lot then get a blackberry. The touch screen on an iphone is hopeless for long messages.

I have a blackberry and an iPad but would never have an iPhone, the screen is just too small for me.

It really depends what you want it for really.

oopsandbabycoconuts · 13/09/2010 21:40

BBM - I had a Storm so touch screen was no probs when changing over.

newstart2010 · 13/09/2010 21:44

wow blackberry sounds strong then Grin

I dont think i will be emailing from it alot, I think i want an iphone for all the fun apps really more then work stuff. Smile

blackberry - DP has just got an iphone and he's driving me mad. Also they're apparently very delicate as made of glass.

trixymalixy · 13/09/2010 21:47

I have an iphone for personal use and a work blackberry. I wouldn't buy a blackberry it is rubbish. The keypad is really teeny so impossible to type on and the screen is half the size of the iphone.

They are worlds apart in terms of functionality. Don't get a blackberry, you'll regret it. Iphone 3Gs are quite cheap now.

What phone provider are you with? O2 let you pay to upgrade early.

duckyfuzz · 13/09/2010 21:48

Get an android - HTC desire is fab

newstart2010 · 13/09/2010 21:52

I'm with orange, and they will not let me upgrade :(

Buy a 2nd hand one?

newstart2010 · 13/09/2010 22:40

have looked into it and a 2nd hand 3g not 3gs 8 gb will be £210.

trixymalixy · 15/09/2010 17:22

I think you'll just have to be patient then and wait till your contract is up.

newstart2010 · 16/09/2010 20:17

I really do not want to wait that long. Grin will keep thinking of ways...

Neither, get an HTC Desire. Far superior Grin

ilikeyoursleeves · 16/09/2010 20:20

I had an iphone dilemma and researched it loads and settled on buying a Samsung Galaxy S (an android phone, ie it's Google rather than Apple). IMO it's better than an Iphone (DH has an iphone), it does exactly the same stuff.

Cost = £30 a month for unlimited texts, 300 mins and unlimited internet. No up front cost at all. On Vodaphone :)

lucy101 · 16/09/2010 20:25

I use a blackberry and love it. I love mac computers but can just see that I won't love an iphone as the BB email is so good/battery lasts for ages/survives almost anything. My husband was torn between the two so I bought him an iphone Touch so he can have apps and things (great for synching etc. and things like travelling) but he still uses his BB as for his work an iphone wasn't going to be the best choice.

Rockbird · 16/09/2010 20:27

The Galaxy S is an iPhone rip off and it's twice the size of an iPhone.

ilikeyoursleeves · 16/09/2010 20:34

It's not twice the size! My DH has an iphone 3G and his is bigger. I don't care if it's a blatant rip off, I refuse to pay £££££ just for an apple!

IMoveTheStars · 16/09/2010 20:35

What PC have you got? If you already have a Mac then iPhone is obvious. You won't be able to sync an Android phone with a Mac. Obv BB will be fine.

newstart2010 · 16/09/2010 20:42

my computer uses google, its a normal laptop. Blush obv I am not very technical atall...
