How much to take DC's friend away?

Just come back from a week's holiday with DD and friend. Was camping so relatively low cost. Am a lone parent so was good to have friend there for DD. TBH don't think DD would have wanted to go without friend.

Spoke with friend's parent just pre hol and was told that parent was short of cash. So at that point I said ok and that would confirm how much when I got back. WWYD? Ask for bare minimum or get nearer to real cost?

Tell them what the real cost was, and see what they can/will contribute. Let them decide - unless it is really going to put you in a bind.
