Abbie Clancy and Peter Crouch - evidently taking him back despite prostitutes

Venal so-and-so.

Of course the WAG lifestyle is attractive, all that money to spend on bikinis.

But bloody hell forgiving someone for using prostitutes? And (according to gossip rags) asking for a replacement engagement ring as the one she has now is 'tainted'.

Aint all that's tainted, love.

She cheated on him too. They are a delightful example of todays modern couple

sorrento56 · 31/08/2010 16:42

Flipping heck, the asking for another ring is just grabby in my opinion. She is heading the way of the women he cheated on her with.

I am sick of people like her and Toni Terry. Have some self respect, he shags someone else, kick him out.

Do women really want money that badly?

GetOrfMoiLand · 31/08/2010 16:44

They do make a fine pair, don't they.

Old photos of her surface of snorthing cocaine.

he dumps her by fax before she goes on to GMTV to speak of drug shame

get back together and pose for paps in range of med resorts

He sleeps with prostitute. Assumed is tip of iceberg.

Cue 1000s of pages of newsprint about the tough decision she has to make.

I mean everyone thinks that she should dump him, but then think of all the millions she would lose access to.

A modern day dilemma.

I'd be very tempted if it were me to 'forgive', marry, then divorce and at least get something for my troubles. I hope she does that, what a wanker. To cheat is one thing, but I despise prostitution. Infact, if it were me, i'd ,marry, divorce then set up some sort of refuge for trafficed women etc. with the money. AND before I married him, I'd make him very pubilicly give money to some sort of relevant charity.

GetOrfMoiLand · 31/08/2010 16:47

I wouldn't marry the goofy sod.

What a difficult decision to make. One teh one hand, her self esteem, sense of worth, trust, respect. On the other hand, all that money.

Senseless.

Its all about 'the brand' though isn't it, and the lifestyle. He gets a beautiful model girlfriend, she gets a millionaire footballer , they can shag who they like and spend money all day.

They have, as my mother would say, the morals of an alley cat

And what really sad is LOADS of young boys and girls want to be just like them.

Alouiseg · 31/08/2010 16:50

She's beautiful!!! I have no idea why she's hanging off him.

traceybath · 31/08/2010 16:52

Its the deal isn't it.

I did laugh at the tainted ring - she's not stupid is she Wink

skidoodly · 31/08/2010 16:52

Yes, it must be so tough for the millionaire Peter Crouch having such a venal fiance, no wonder he was forced to pay money to have sex with another woman behind her back.

GetOrfMoiLand · 31/08/2010 16:52

She is pretty, yes, but no more so than any above average pretty girl who you see on any High Street on a Saturday.

Model, schmodel. She would be advertising wyncyette skirt suits in Daily Mail supplements if it wasn't for her footballery connections.

Doesn't reallt matter how pretty she is, she has no brain and no self respect.

Mind you friend and I were just discussing how we know quite a few women who stay with their plonker husbands because of the lifestyle they have.

And we're not talking peter crouch type lifestyle.

cyb · 31/08/2010 16:55

I know a few who stay with plonker husbands and DON't have a lifestyle

GetOrfMoiLand · 31/08/2010 17:06

lol at the word plonker

Missed this story as was on holiday. I'm really disappointed about this - I like both of them. Didn't he answer, when asked what he would have been if not a footballer, "a virgin"? Grin.

potplant · 31/08/2010 17:34

I too know of someone who puts up with this sort of crap because she doesn't want to lose her house, can't see how she can possibly survive on her own and 'deep down he loves her'. 3 young DCs, not had a job for 10 years. And we aren't talking 10 bedroom mock tudor mansion either.

Its just the same for these WAGS just the trappings are on a different scale.

Fluffypoms · 15/09/2010 21:44

she is 12 weeks pregnant by him
silly girl

UnquietDad · 15/09/2010 21:50

Of course she is going to take him back. He's her meal, dress, lifestyle and luxury holiday ticket. It happens at all levels of income, "mutatis mutandis".

LIZS · 15/09/2010 21:51

just saw that too

Meglet · 15/09/2010 22:33

I cannot believe she is pregnant Sad.

HerBeatitude · 16/09/2010 13:47

Has it occurred to anyone that maybe she is taking him back because he is the father of her child and your first pregnancy is one of the most emotionally vulnerable times of your life and the thought of going through a pregnancy and birth alone is bloody horrifying?

Or do slebs not have normal feelings like the rest of us?

donnie · 16/09/2010 14:32

if she wants a new ring on the grounds that the other one is tainted, what does she want to do about his cock? seriously? surely that's tainted as well?

If I knew my other half was doing that Id never let him near me again. Cash or no cash.

UnquietDad · 16/09/2010 16:43

"Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeessssss..."

I bet she'd be really keen to take him back if he were a shelf-stacker on minimum wage.

HerBeatitude · 16/09/2010 16:55

I think the thought of going through a pregnancy, birth and new baby on your own, makes many women forgive things they would otherwise never countenance, even from a bloke who is a shelf-stacker.

That is why 75% of all domestic violence attacks happen either during pregnancy or within a year of the first baby's birth - because men know, at a very instinctive level, that a woman is more emotionally vulnerable and likely to feel that she needs her partner, the father of her child, at that time.

And of course the social messages that a baby needs its father, however crap the father is, which are constantly rammed home, does influence women. My xp first displayed signs of emotional abuse when I was pregnant with my first child. It was a massive shock and I knew that if I hadn't been pregnant, I would have thrown him out. But I was pregnant, for christ's sake, with his child. I had a job, a good one, and he was a flaky freelancer with very little money coming in. I didn't need him financially - in fact, he was a drain - but emotionally, I really really felt that I needed the father of my child to be there. Evne though he was shit.

All I'm saying, is that slebs don't grow up in a culture different to the rest of us. They are as vulnerable to the psychological messages as we all are. I'm sure the diamonds influenced her; but I really hate this horrible, cynical, dehumanising attitude on here that slebs are somehow completely different from the rest of us, with a different version of humanity. They're neither better nor worse than any of us. They're just better known.

UnquietDad · 16/09/2010 16:57

That's all entirely fair and possible, but I reserve the right to be a cynical bugger and I still think she's taking him back for the WAG lifestyle Grin

Lizzylou · 16/09/2010 17:00

To be fair, Abbie Clancy could very easily "pull another Footballer/rich bloke" should she wish, she is gorgeous.

I felt dreadfully sorry for her as just before the news of Lurch's sordid philandering broke they were plastered over the tabloids and she (and he) looked very in love and happy. That she was pregnant at the time makes it even worse.

She may not have asked for an untainted sparkler, that could have been just rubbish peddled by the tabloids.
