Swimming with dyed hair?

I've recently dyed my hair red, and as anyone who has done that knows, red dye takes quite a few washes until it stops running. I wanted to take my son swimming tomorrow, but wondered if I get my hair wet will it run in the pool? It's just that I've never heard of it happening to anyone so wondered if the chlorine just had a magical effect. I really don't want a trail of red following me around the pool Blush

Can you buy a swimming hat at the pool reception?

I've swum with coloured hair.
I wouldn't worry about it, but be aware odf it seeping onto your clothing after.

I went to center parcs about 5 weeks after i put red dye on my hair and my white bikini top turned a pale pink. I think it was the chlorine making the dye come out as it would run clear when I washed it at home.
When we got back to our apartment and I washed my hair the white towel was red opps.

I was given a tip for swimming with dyed hair, which is to really soak it in the shower with fresh water before you get in. Apparently it helps to protect it from some of the effects of the chlorine.

Might be bollocks, but I always do it now.
