wedding gifts

I have two parcels, I know they are wedding gifts. Do I open them now or after the wedding? Do i thank the givers now or after the wedding? Anything else I need to know?

doesn't matter when you open them IMO, but some would say only after the wedding

but thank yous afterwards - in case they are the types who expected you to wait till after the wedding

Well, they are in a cupboard. I think we might open them after the register office and before the proper ceremony/reception bit. (two days apart, we need something to keep us busy!)
