After years of trying every diet out there, I finally found something that worked for me: Mounjaro weight loss injections.

Since last July, I’ve lost 100 pounds.

Starting weight: 20st 12lbs (292lbs / 132.4kg, UK size 26-28) BMI 41.3
Current weight: 13st 10lbs (192lbs / 87.1kg, UK size 16-18). BMI 27.5
Target BMI: 24

I know I’m not at target yet, but it 100 pounds is a nice round number so I thought I’d do something to “celebrate” and also share my experience. I know weight loss injections can be a hot topic, and I’m happy to share my experience—so feel free to ask me anything!

I won’t be responding to abusive messages. This has been the best thing I’ve ever tried, and I stand by my choice.

Let’s keep it respectful, but if you’re genuinely curious, drop your questions below! 👇

Did you run any tests on fat %, muscle density and general health checks? How did that weight loss compare to diet and rigorous exercise in terms of general health?

stopthatrightnow · 06/04/2025 17:35

@Jaessayes I did, it was actually after a thorough health check that my consultant cardiologist suggested I take it in the first place. I’ve also had my HBA1C levels and full bloods checked every three months because the former was right on the cusp of pre diabetes and has now dropped eight points to the middle of normal range.

I’ve never been able to get this amount of weight off before : as mentioned in my OP I had tried all the diets going, multiple times, so if you’re asking about comparison this is the only one that’s worked for the last 20 or so years. I’ve been exercising on average four times a week throughout as well so am now much fitter.

Why did you use AI to write your op?

iamnotalemon · 06/04/2025 17:52

Oh well done, that’s amazing!

I lost a similar amount through weight loss surgery (this was before WLI were a thing).

Neetra30 · 06/04/2025 18:12

@stopthatrightnow how does this drug help you to lose weight? Does it only suppress your appetite?

stopthatrightnow · 06/04/2025 23:41

@iamnotalemonthank you

@Neetra30this from a Google: “Mounjaro improves blood sugar control and supports weight loss through appetite suppression and delayed gastric emptying.”

My blood tests reveal that it has indeed been hugely successful in controlling my blood sugars. I’ve always been hyper sensitive to blood sugar peaks and troughs (which then drove me to eat more sugar to get out of the trough) and I haven’t felt this much at all while on Mounjaro. I certainly feel the appetite suppression and delayed stomach emptying too. But what this explanation of how it works doesn’t account for is the sensation that so many people find on Mounjaro ….that the “food noise” stops. By this I mean the non stop chatter in my head about the next food I want, driving me to the kitchen, or even to the shop. Similar to how a nicotine addict has non stop chatter about having a cigarette I guess, it was all pervasive and all day, every day. The drug has just stopped all that dead. I no longer have the desire to binge eat or to go and seek my old favourite foods to eat too much of. It is such a relief. I think I’ve only had three mini binges in nine months whereas I used to have at least two major binges per day before.

They’re doing studies about why this is; there is great excitement about how it could help with other addictive type behaviours. Anecdotally I’ve seen lots of people say they no longer want alcohol when they’re on Weight Loss Injections.

Following with interest. I really really need to lose weight. Can't help feeling the injections sound too good to be true.

stopthatrightnow · 07/04/2025 00:25

@HealthyWeightBy40what are your concerns? I was reassured by the fact that they’re not actually new, these drugs are properly tested and have been out for 20 years, for diabetics.

My cardiologist said that the conferences he attends are dominated by excited doctors discussing the amazing changes these injections are having for their patients.

That’s very strange way of thinking. Imagine you had heart disease, which could kill you . (You don’t but you do have obesity which is equally risky). If someone bought out a drug that cures people of obesity, would you hesitate to take it?.

MissFlimpkin · 07/04/2025 13:07

This is really interesting thanks.

how did you find/ decide on a reputable supplier?

Loveanewusername · 07/04/2025 13:11

Well done you that’s really impressive

I hope I can share a similar story by Christmas….

I started at 315lb and I have currently got down to 275lb since mid January.

I can’t believe the difference 40lb makes and it makes me excited for 100 !

stopthatrightnow · 07/04/2025 17:08

@missflimpkinyou are very welcome. For the supplier, I would recommend monj.co.uk, who give you an updated chart of reputable suppliers plus prices and any discount codes.

@Loveanewusername thank you. Keep going! Never thought I would be able to get here (so many diets failed before) but here I am. I’ve had three people tell me unprompted in the last 24 hours that I’ve lost weight. I tend to think, “who, me, really” because I’m not used to it yet…have been overweight for almost twenty years so it’s a big change. Hope you get here too. I know it seems like a long way off but I tell myself that the days are going to pass anyway, so while they do I can concentrate on making a difference now.

Hi, I have a couple of questions,

How many clicks for 3.25/75mg please? and what dose pen is that that you're doing that with?

your WIEIAD looked like you barely eat anything, surely thats not sustainable long term? do you eat proper meals some days just small portions?

I'm starting next week, will order some laxido so thanks for the tip

  1. Do you feel like you’ve done it the lazy way compared to people who put in hours at the gym/change their diet? I’d personally feel like I was cheating.
  2. How do you feel about people who use the injections but are coy about it? I see people on social media talking about their weight loss journey and I know they use the injections but there’s no mention of this in their posts. I can’t help feel it’s misleading, especially for others who are feeling down about their weight.

@Discoswirlwho am I cheating, and out of what? Do you think that someone who gives up smoking using nicotine patches or vapes is cheating? Or someone who gets off heroin using methodone is cheating? Or someone who uses HRT patches is cheating to get through menopause? It’s a ridiculous argument that is designed purely to make overweight people feel shamed (again).

It is a drug that has been designed specifically to alleviate an issue. Just like every other medicine on the market. But with attitudes like yours, it’s completely understandable that some people don’t tell anyone they’re on it. Because you would judge them. And nastily.

I have worked hard at the gym about four-five times per week, and with my food; it is not a magic wand. It’s a facilitator to get through the worst of it, but doesn’t cure the issue “just like that.” You have to put the work in too.

i

I would never have tried it if decades of dieting and exercise on their own had actually worked.

@Puttingmyfootdown I’m afraid I don’t understand what you’re asking with the 3.25/75 thing. Is there a typo?

Well done on your weight loss. I’m thinking of trying the injections but worried about side effects. Did you get any at all?

stopthatrightnow · 05/05/2025 01:31

@Roxietreesyes, constipation. Cured with Laxido. It’s a very common side effect, probably the most common one.

I felt cold in the first few weeks but never since. Feeling cold is also a known side effect (anecdotally).

Fatigue the day after taking it, about 25% more than usual.

Never had any vomiting or dirrohea or any other side effects. I do think a lot of side effects that people dread are caused by patients either lying to get the drug or getting it from a hairdresser (so probably not real Mounjaro), or from going up the doses too quickly. I think the latter only benefits the pockets of the pharmacy who supply it as stronger doses are more expensive. To me, it’s common sense that if you want to keep the side effects low, keep on as low a dose as possible (that works). I’m currently on 6.75mg after nine months and (because I take one sachet of Laxido every day) have no side effects apart from some fatigue on day two.

From being on multiple forums, most people only get constipation, and some have horrid burps. I don’t think o get the latter as I’ve kept my dosage low.

Well done, OP! I'm still in the early stages and a stone down in a month, which I'm delighted with. You're an inspiration. This drug is truly life changing.

Lampzade · 05/05/2025 01:36

Op
First of all well done. Losing all that weight requires a great deal of discipline .

Just want to ask about what the reaction has been to your weight loss ( from friends and family ) .
Have people been mostly supportive or have you encountered sone weight loss envy / jealousy ?

stopthatrightnow · 05/05/2025 01:41

@Puttingmyfootdown- I looked up the day of food I described in a post above, that you critiqued, as I log everything with Nutra Check. It came to 1490 calories, which is exactly 500 below my TDEE, so this is perfect in terms of sustainable and healthy weight loss. I don’t actually count calories, I focus more on getting protein at every meal and I can’t eat big portions as my body tells me I am full up much more quickly than in pre-Mounjaro days. I rarely get hungry these days.

My weight loss now has averaged exactly ten pounds per month for ten months, so about two pounds per week, which again is what dietitians recommend as healthy and sustainable loss.

stopthatrightnow · 05/05/2025 01:45

@Lampzade- thank you.

Nobody said anything for MONTHS!!! I literally lost about 6 stone before anyone said anything at all, so right down to about 32 BMI. I guess it was a mixture of not noticing, to not wanting to comment on someone’s appearance but now EVERYONE is commenting!

One of my close friends is an exception. She has never said a thing, not even when other people were congratulating me in front of her.
