Mine is in Essex and will be £9200

Mezzaninemel · 26/09/2024 07:37

Prices have gone up over £2k since my surgery a year ago.

Gosh

It’s such an in demand surgery now! I paid £10k last year in Bristol … interestingly @veiledsentiments the quote from David Floyd’s team when I enquired was less than £9k … albeit surgery outside London. From what I could see it’s cheaper in the north/ some regions … with people still getting sub £8k surgery … but mostly now it’s £10k upwards. Phew. Still worth it though 😉

nicnoo99 · 26/09/2024 18:09

I just had mine done in Surrey. Dr Karat at Parkside in Frimley. Can't recommend her highly enough, she was brilliant.

The only annoying thing was that I was quoted £7600 in January and then by the time I got it done in September it was £8800. I complained and got it down to £8400, but make sure you get the price locked down in writing and have the surgery done near to the quote date.

nicnoo99 · 26/09/2024 18:10

By the way @Madagascary you asked how much they took off. 1.5kg in all. I couldn't believe it!

Boopear · 26/09/2024 18:43

I'm booked for November in Sussex - McIndoe Centre. £8548. Ms Hazari. Obv can't confirm how good she is yet, but she seems pretty amazing on so far!

Madagascary · 27/09/2024 03:18

Mine was £9k 2 years ago (but was extra because of under arm lipo requiring a skin excision)

would have been top end of £7 I tjiml

definitely don’t get it done in London it seems!

Thanks so much all. I guess you are right, checked at many places..Infact I had called Cadogen a couple years back and that time it was 6500£ and now it's 9100£ at Cadogen. So, it definitely has gone up.

All the best to those who have it scheduled soon.

Anyone has an idea about Dr. William Van Niekerk?

Madagascary · 27/09/2024 21:13

You know? I wonder if there’s really much difference between them all apart from bedside manner and experience

OP posts:
Madagascary · 27/09/2024 21:17

Just googled. My guy now starts at &9k

big rise in 2 years

starsinyourpies · 27/09/2024 22:14

Having mine in November just under £9k.

For anyone get who got it with a tummy tuck (I am considering this as I have a lot of stretched out skin from having babies) and in London share how much it cost them?

I really want to do this one day. But I know the NHS would say no as I’m a 32F/G so not wildly big. So I need to save!

My boobs are very saggy and I have constant back pain / dig in marks from my bra. Can’t do crop top type things as they’re then they strain my back, so has to be an underwired structured bra and they dig.

I don’t think a day goes by when I don’t get even mildly bothered by the pain from my boobs!

And - hopefully if / when I do it - I sort of figure I might as well sort the loose skin out and get a tummy tuck?! I wouldn’t bother otherwise but as they’ll be doing something there anyway!

Also - how long is the waitlist? How long was the time from booking to actually getting it done?

Strange question - is there an ideal time of year to do it?! Like boring January?!

Madagascary · 28/09/2024 14:37

Depends on leave really

in time for the summer I’d say. But when you decide to do it you just want to go for it.

I thought surgeons didn’t like to combine a tummy tuck with breast reduction as it makes the operation longer, and therefore more risky. Not to mention the cost!

CoolShoeshine · 28/09/2024 15:56

@Reducti definitely boring January or other winter months are the best. I had mine in January and it fitted in with work as it is always a quiet period, plus I could hide in big jumpers as I didn't want people to notice what I'd had done. January is also a time of few events. I felt like it was the start of new year, new you.

Madagascary · 28/09/2024 21:29

About the noticing

no one does unless they know! Honestly I was stunned they didn’t. I did dress quite carefully for my 34f on a size 12 body but I was convinced people would see.

I had a convincing cover story prepared in case

OP posts:
Blimmingboobs · 28/09/2024 22:15

Ooh what was your convincing cover story?

I just can’t see how people won’t notice but sincerely hoping they don’t.

I had planned/hoped to lose weight leading up to it but, for multiple reasons, it’s just not going to happen in time now.

Madagascary · 29/09/2024 04:45

Thought I had to have a minor op from one boob so had them evened up bilaterally - sounds worrying enough like maybe cancel or something people don’t want to ask anymore about.

In the end no one noticed I still can’t believe it and I’ve checked with people since they’re.

Summerdew · 29/09/2024 07:45

I hadn’t seen my oldest friend for a year since having them done (she was working abroad), known her since I was a toddler. She didn’t notice. People honestly don’t look at you like you see yourself (this woman has seen me topless, in bikinis, in my underwear countless times and I was in a fitted top when I saw her, she couldn’t believe she hadn’t noticed).

Christ, you could tell I typed that in the middle of the night without my glasses on. Can you make out what I was trying to say?

@Reducti your boobs sound like mine were.... not huge but horribly saggy and had to be in underwires all the time .. so uncomfortable .. I totally understand.
The lady having surgery ahead of me on the day was having boobs and a tummy tuck ... lots of these surgeries fall into the 'mummy makeover' category so it's quite common to have both things done together. I'd imagine you'd want at least 6 weeks off that ... but time out really does depend on your over all health/ healing etc. So time of year will need to be when you can best have time off. I didn't want to be doing it in the depths of winter but lots of people choose then as they can 'cover up'.

In demand surgeons will have long wait times to consults .. but you can get cancellations. From consult to surgery is generally around 3 months .. be could be sooner or longer .. I scheduled mine 7 months from the initial consult as that's when I wanted it.

And ... I have said it loads on these threads ... unless you have told them ... NO ONE NOTICES ... which to start with is weird because you feel so different and [to you] look so different, but the reality is that's not what most people are looking at. I always wore quite 'loose' clothing and was in the same clothes so that's probably helped as I didn't have a good cover story planned like @Madagascary . I didn't tell my family and my Mum only clocked it a full year later ... she did have a bit of meltdown ... but that's a whole other story 😂

Lemonadeintheshade · 03/10/2024 14:57

Pleased I found this thread. I’m booked in for my op in 3 weeks 😬
I’ve ordered some Lipoelastic bras and have been looking for some button front pyjamas. What other things have you guys found helpful post surgery. Any recommendations for pillows to help with sleeping on your back. Any other useful bits?

Mezzaninemel · 03/10/2024 16:04

3 weeks! I’m excited for you.
I bought extra pillows so I could alter my position. I also used a travel pillow when sat up in bed for the bottom of my spine just to reduce the pressure point. I can’t think of anything else I bought that I actually needed!

veiledsentiments · 03/10/2024 17:34

Bought one of those long horse shoe shaped pillows off Amazon for DD. She loves it and still uses it. Got a button up PJ top from Marks. Bras were supplied from hospital. That’s it.

Have a basket to move things around with you for first few days. I had a bottle of water, iPad, book, chargers, painkillers etc
it just made it easy when I was moving about to ask the husband/children to bring my basket.
