What have people been saying?

What are the best and worst parts of your job?

Fundays12 · 23/10/2024 20:22

What's the worst parent you have ever dealt with? Do you deal with many parents who don't believe there child would do something everyone else knows they did?

How are you finding the funding situation now that nearly all parents receive some sort of funding? How are the rates and are the payments reliable? Are you payed them monthly or termly etc?

Ex childminder curious to hear how the funding situation is going these days.

@TheSomething

I'm a childminder. Funding is paid termly, 75% of it is paid within a couple of weeks of the term starting, and the last 25% a couple of weeks before the end. I've never had any problems with it, and actually quite like some of my payments being monthly then this being in chunks.

The rate for under 2s is a fair bit more than my hourly rate which is nice (and well deserved I feel). Age 3/4 funding is below, so parents pay the difference for that.
