Hopefully I can help other people feel a bit more normal in what they’re feeling. I know it can be hard to seek help.

Did it appear suddenly? Overnight? Triggered by lockdown?

HeadsShouldersTitsandArse · 06/04/2024 21:26

@HelloMiss My first experience was in secondary school. I think it was the pressure of having to go to school, my parents being fined if I didn’t ect. Because as soon as school was over my anxiety went away for a few years and I felt like a completely different person.

It came back when I was about 18, staying at a new boyfriends house, he only lived with his brothers and dad so all men in the house with paper thin walls and DH(married now) fed me a dodgey kebab.. so I asked him to drive me home so I could avoid having to shite myself at his house 😂 After that my anxiety became so bad I couldn’t step outside my house without feeling physically ill.

It got better with therapy, I stopped going as my therapist changed jobs and I have now developed health anxiety. It’s manageable at present and I’m back in therapy :)

Have you managed to have a career?

HeadsShouldersTitsandArse · 07/04/2024 10:42

@somptuosité Fortunately my anxiety hasn’t stopped me working. I used to have a professional career however after having children the house and stress of the job wasn’t for me so I decided to quit and do something less mentally and physically draining.

I now work from home 4 days a week.

@HeadsShouldersTitsandArse I struggled with my first career too. I changed to a one on one career and I am much happier. Social phobia is difficult to manage in some professions.
