Six months on HRT (and a little bit of Botox) AMA

I’m 45, with hindsight about 8 years of feeling out of sorts mentally plus a visible physical decline, hit me with it….

Has the Botox worked? Presumably the “physical decline” is more than just a few lines.

Also interested in the Botox- how did you find a reliable practitioner/clinic? I need hopeeeee

The Botox does work. However I do seem to metabolise it quickly and so it needs redoing every 13 weeks. I just look fresher.

@Tiredtoddlermama I have had a mirena coil fitted and have been using Oestrogel. I worked up from 2 pumps a day to 4. My mood is so much better, I feel balanced if that makes sense? The key thing also has been sleep. I was waking at 3-4am every morning with a feeling of impending doom and couldn’t get back to sleep I now sleep through and if I do wake I go straight back to sleep. I am still anxious but that’s my default mode (other reasons for that). My memory has improved massively. I was literally unable to recall certain words and had begun to feel really quite scared by that element. That has also completely stopped now and I’m as sharp as I was before. I have also noticed after some months that the skin on my face has firmed. I was looking quite saggy and miserable. Jowls have decreased. Overall I’m really happy.

The Botox has just freshened me up. Nothing extreme. Baby Botox in my forehead, 11’s, crows feet and a small amount in my chin. The lady is someone o have known all my adult life who is a qualified nurse. She is very good and cautious. I know lots of people who use her and it’s not obvious at all. Small sharp scratches and a small headache afterwards.
