I grew up in a real life soap opera, mother left when I was little, homeless at 18 and all sorts in between.
Now I'm middle class (or professional employment) , husband , 2 kids and a mortgage but on the way to be mortgage free by 45.
AMA and I'll answer
If you recognise me please don't take this outside of mn as I'm normally a private person.

I don't have any questions but I find it really interesting that some people can change their life around whereas others can't seem to move on.
Well done to you.

Well done.

I’m not sure how anyone would recognise you from that though, it’s not that unusual

Well done. I hope you feel a sense of pride.

what was the turning point for you, and what advice would you give someone in your younger selfs position?

No pride or anything positive, I just lived each day in turn. My motto is always this day will pass thanks to George Harrison.
My advice is have a plan and a destination. Anything is achievable with steps but you have to know what you want (in my case Uni and a secure job) and then work out what you need ( a levels, a gap year to earn money, grit and determination).
