I'm a scientologist and have been attending courses at a mission for a number of years and have also been audited. There is a lot of misunderstanding in the media and I believe its a nice peaceful organisation.

No I don't. Scientology has helped in in my ways of thinking and relating to relationships and work. Everyone truly wants you to be a better person.

But you have to pay £££££££ to be a better person.............. and move up through the ranks. Doesn't that strike you as suspicious?

How did you get into scientology?

Are you the sort of person that feels the need to belong to a group?
(I personally know many unchristian catholic christians that effectively use their church as a snotty social club looking down on all outsiders).

Could someone become an individual scientologist without attending any courses, meetings etc.

Auditing is a way of working through trauma and working to rid yourself of past trauma.
Auditing is a sequence of actions whereby the "auditor" takes an individual through times in their current or past lives with the purpose of ridding the individual of negative influences from past events or behaviors.

The courses are reasonably cheap. Each course can take hours/days/weeks etc depending on your learning style. It's up to you which courses you take you are guided by someone who can show you the correct order of the books.

are utter bullshit. He has told me the same story four times in four consecutive days and not remembered that he’s told me already.

I got into scientology after reading the dianetics book and I reached out to a mission so I could understand it better.
I don't believe it's a cult everyone has free choice.

Honestly, if this is for real - the way they draw you in is with short 'helpful' courses that seem innocuous. Then when you are invested they tell you the ridiculous stuff.

I have psychological tests every few months so I can track progress and look at new courses.
I have mixed views on Thetans but I'm going with a metaphor.
