Yes, a hairy one.

Do you have very hairy nostrils?
Yes. I don’t know why. I think because I’m very pale with dark hair, it’s more noticeable. Plus, I’m tall and have kind of sticky outtie nostrils so easy for people to look up and into them.

What do you normally go to remove nostril hair?
I have one of those little nose hair trimmers that all of our dads had in the 80s.

Why didn’t you use it he nose hair trimmer?
I took the battery out of it for something else and didn’t have a spare.

Did it hurt?

Was the hair all inside your nostrils? I only ask because I saw my fil nose hair glinting in the sun the last day - the hairs were growing out of the pores on the top of the end of his nose. I was strangely fascinated!

Mine were just of the localised nostril variety.

Nooo. You need one of those nose waxing kits whereby you dip a stick into wax melted in the microwave and stick it up the nostril, and then wrench it out.

I do this to my dh periodically and laugh like a drain as he makes quite the fuss. Works brilliantly though.

Wax every time - have got wiry long foookers (Chinese hair - double shaft apparently, which isn't as fun as it may soundand it's only ever wax that sorts it

I think adrenaline kicked in after the first pull on nostril 1.

Nostril 2 and subsequent mop-up sessions were less successful.

Fun fact, when you rapidly remove hair from your nose, your nose starts streaming. This does loosen the wax adhesion somewhat but only enough to make it less effective, not less painful.

Did you do both nostrils?

How, having done one, did you convince yourself to do the other?

They used hot wax and stuck a thin wooden spatula in to yank it all out by. They did the whole nostril 😂it was SO PAINFUL. I could smell everything so clearly it was quite magical until I got fucking sinusitis sorry it wasn't that, it was nasal vestibulitis, horrid, AVOID!

I’ve tweezed before and just found it too unbelievably sore. Plus, the sneezing.

I’ll see what the regrowth is like on this and would consider it again.

The inside of my nose was dry when I started, but I had to take a break once it started watering.

I didn’t go around the nostril, I kind of folded the strip into a little cone and applied that. I then went back over stubborn areas.

Wax strip is currently folded onto itself into the bathroom bin, so not sure it’d make for a sporner-corner worthy pic.

Are there any other orifices you'd wax now you've done this one?

It was very much a possibility at one stage. Once my nose and eyes started watering, I’d have happily just let the strip stay there. Maybe I could have trained my nasal hair to grow down it, like some form of exotic wisteria.

Look, we do what we can with what we have.

I just wish I still had one of those little sticky-removing cotton swabs that comes with the strips. No amount of hot water is shifting the sticky residue. I sleep with a very hair cat (not a euphemism) so just know I’m going to wake up in the morning looking like a bunny has burrowed its way up my nose.
