Birkenstock Arizona fit

Hello everyone,
Hoping for some advice from fellow Mumsnetters please.
I just bought a pair of Birkenstock Arizona sandals after my friends recommended them (I’ve been searching for a comfy practical pair.)
They arrived this morning. Length-wise they fit my feet perfectly (I measured my feet as per the guidelines on the Birkenstock website before ordering.)
The right sandal feels absolutely fine.
However with the left sandal feels like it’s not wide enough. The inside arch of my left foot feels like it is sitting unnaturally on the raised bed of the suede footbed. (I don’t think I’m explaining myself well. I mean where the wider ankle strap originates from the inside of the shoe, that’s where it’s hurting. Is this normal? It’s a little uncomfortable. It almost feels like the left sandal is too narrow. Or is this a case of just needing to break them in? I’ve never owned a pair of these before and don’t know what to expect. Grateful for anyone else’s experience.

Sometimes one foot might be slightly bigger than the other and you might only suddenly notice it. Our feet are also warmer in the summer month and tend to spread. Try them on at a couple of different times during the day. Our feet are always at their warmest in the afternoon's. It always worth going up half a size as its better to accommodate your biggest foot rather than your smallest. The other option is going for a shoe that is wide fit

Did you buy the narrow fit model by mistake??

It could be that the shape of your left foot is a little flatter than the right? When I first got Birkenstock I thought the same, that the arch was in the too high but they flattened down and moulded to my feet. I have quite flat feet though!
