I was thinking about describing my job in an abstract way, it's very hard to do. So, I work on a big white boat, like you see on the tv. AMA

I dream of retiring on a massive gin palace - is it even remotely feasible?!

Are the guests always self entitled a**holes or are there some who are a pleasure to have on board? I sometimes dream of a trip on a super yacht but is there any privacy for the guests??

Do you stay on the same boat all year round, or do you work by ‘trip’ on different boats?

Is life one big party?

How did you get into working on super yatchs?

I'm really intrigued by the questions up thread.

Do you see dodgy doings on board? DH and I have been in Saint Tropez a few times and on one of them seen a older bloke from a yacht obviously gathering up pretty young girls from a beach for a party on a yacht!

What do you earn?

Do the owners visit and are they catered for by the same crew or do they they have their own personal crew?

Are 'yachtgirls' really a thing?

@feesh unless you work for Abromovich or Spielberg, the owners are usually no one you’ve ever heard of. Mostly, famous people are not rich enough to own yachts...Bahamas!!

@Lozza70 some are, yes. They have privacy to a degree. But every time they visit the bathroom, it’s refreshed so they can’t really do anything that the crew don’t know about..

@WolfHunter fresh cranberries in Italy in august. Not so outrageous you might think, but the stakes were high.it was the only food the wife ate to keep her figure going

@Bigfatpicnic I’m the chef.. the jobs are mostly full time, but there are some seasonable gigs in the Med. I got my first job through a friend

@Notavegan the crew are generally pickier than the guests. But, essentially, yes they do
