I love that you have made this thread, well done. In your hear of hearts, what would you really like to do with your remaining time planet Earth?

jennie0412 · 25/10/2020 01:40

@Straysocks ooh!

I will study sociology, psychology and criminology for my alevels! Then, I'm going to go to open university, partly due to money, partly because of grades and partially due to the extra freedom it gives you. Then, I will become a TEFL (teaching English foreign language) teacher in Korea.

Now, at this point, my life will go one of two ways.

Option one -
I find a boyfriend, you know how it goes. We end up getting married and having kids, I can then apply for a different visa (family, instead of job) and remain in Korea and lead a normal family life

Or...
Option two -
I make my career my main priority, travel for many years, and then maybe when I'm about 40, I will adopt a child and possibly settle down eventually.

Or!
My music gets recognised and I become a famous performer... Grin, a girl can wish, I'm still young!

I'm also incredibly interested in astronomy, so if I couldn't study people (hence my a level choices) i would study this instead Smile

What about you?

How many more episodes of MasterChef should I watch? And please confirm the number of glasses of wine that should accompany each one. Ta.

Bohboh · 25/10/2020 01:41

Tea is number one for me, followed by wine....vodka is retch worthy.

Can your body do anything interesting/ odd? My toes are double jointed.

daisydalrymple · 25/10/2020 01:42

Are you happy?

jennie0412 · 25/10/2020 01:45

@Barmbraic

Hmm, well everyone knows that the right number of episodes is the number you get to before you feel like your eyes are hanging out of your head, and then add one more for when you get into bed and decide one more episode can't hurt, at which point you fall asleep half way through.

My answer on wine quantities will fully depend on how tired you are, as I don't want to be responsible for any alcohol poisoning! Grin

You've got learning, love, music and travel ahead of you then - and a lot of years too it seems. That's a great plan. I'm going to study & become a therapist. And dance a lot.

jennie0412 · 25/10/2020 01:46

@Bohboh hmm.. nothing too special unfortunately! Sad I have bad posture and I'm not particularly bendy. The most interesting part of my body is the metal ankle! Grin but I guess that doesn't count as it 'doing' something odd..

Shocking amounts of logic for this hour, Jennie! In that case, I'm on my last of both. Bon nuit.

jennie0412 · 25/10/2020 01:52

@daisydalrymple good question. Right now, I'm.. content? I'm not truly happy, because I feel as though I'm pushing off things into the future, procrastinating, and my biggest dream is the most impossible one, and while the other ones I mentioned are still exciting, I cant help worrying that if I don't succeed in my hugest dream, I will die with regret that I never did it while I had the chance, and, I think too much about the world and people. I spend a lot of time wondering how to the world came to exist, and realised why people follow religions, because it gives an answer to everything scary, such as how the world was created, and what happens when we cease to exist. I know the big bang is the scientifically proven explanation, but i can't stop myself from thinking.. what created the stars? And the universe? And how did we develop to what we are now? What will we turn into in the future? Will there be a future?

Basically, I think way too much about things (and seem to ramble too much tooBlush)!

@Straysocks Do you dance a specific genre, or just move to music in whatever way takes your fancy?

jennie0412 · 25/10/2020 01:55

@Barmbraic I'm a night owl! This is the time you'll get the most sense out of me.. ask me at 7am tomorrow (today?) and you wouldn't get so much as a word out of me! Grin

Carrying on from my huge wall of text, I think my main take away is that I'm terrified of being mediocre. My whole life I've tried to control different aspects of it (anorexia, huge detailed plans down to the minutes of what I will do in my day etc) in the hopes that it will prevent mediocrity. I think some people crave mediocrity, some people can't escape it and some people are naturally destined to be something special. I can only hope I'm the latter Smile.

Have you ever watched Bob Ross's Joy of painting? It's ever so relaxing.

BillysMyBunny · 25/10/2020 01:58

How old are you?

Straysocks · 25/10/2020 01:59

I dance a great deal as a child/teen but was robbed of my clearly stellar intended path by my dodgy ankles. Bastards. I think I need it back in my life. I did Flamenco for a while for fitness. How 'bout you play and I'll make it up as we go along? It's good to think. Good to think ahead. Don't worry about thinking just make sure you're doing too.

jennie0412 · 25/10/2020 01:01

@BillysMyBunny I don't really want to say, but I'm young! Let's say over 15 under 18! Smile

@Bohboh I have! I've watched some videos in the past, it's fascinating how he can make incredible work look so simple! Now if you'll excuse me, I'll be on YouTube, falling down a Bob Ross rabbit hole for the next few hours..! Grin

OP posts:
jennie0412 · 25/10/2020 01:11

@Straysocks oh that's frustrating! It's okay, we're in the dodgy ankles club together Wink l do like thinking, and I agree thinking can be good, but I tend to end up so wrapped up in my thoughts it leads into almost obsessive territory! Today, I had a 3 hour long conversation with my dad about black holes and where they lead to.. Grin Many conspiracy theories..
Doing is the hardest part, and it's not through laziness. Sometimes i just can't bring myself to do something, even though I know after I do it ive started my 'journey' so to speak. And nothing changes without change, so..
Actually, having started this thread, I'm feeling incredibly motivated! The lyrics that have been sitting in my notebook for the last 3 weeks are calling my name..

daisydalrymple · 25/10/2020 10:25

Hope you slept eventually! And look at the spooky time lapse on the latter replies! It shows when the clocks went back 😍👍⏰

jennie0412 · 25/10/2020 11:49

@daisydalrymple I did! I woke up at 10 Blush
I watched that happen last night, the time changing, i was confused as it was getting on for 2am, and then I looked back and it was quarter past 1! Grin

jennie0412 · 26/10/2020 00:16
