I'm a semi-successful musician in a rock band. It's my only occupation, has been for some years. I've been a lot of places, seen a lot of stuff and met a lot of people. Ask me anything. I can't answer everything for various reasons but let's see how it goes...

Blossoms are still together according to their Wiki page[/quote]
I saw Blossoms in February

Crochetgirl67 · 24/07/2020 23:37

Are you from The Slaves? I know you supported Kasabian a couple of years ago, and I know you play lots of festivals. Your image scares me, but I know in your private life, you are a sensitive and caring. Someone I know is very good friends with you.....

serenada · 24/07/2020 23:39

Am listening to My Favourite Things now. So chilled.

GinWithASplashOfTonic · 24/07/2020 23:39

If you were a question on Pointless. What number score would you be?

JacobReesMogadishu · 24/07/2020 23:41

@SospanFrangipan

So do I! 😮

lineandsinker · 24/07/2020 23:42

Are you in The Duke Spirit? Early Kasabian support band, female lead singer... fits the bill really. 🤷‍♀️

Are you in North Wales then too?

squiffyseesaw · 24/07/2020 23:44

I checked @Cheetahfajita before I posted my guess

MissJacksonIfYoureNasty · 24/07/2020 23:48

If pp are correct then I thought I had never heard of you...but I have heard of you! This is still a choon -13 years on, unlike me, it hasn't aged a bit.

Elbels · 24/07/2020 23:54

If you're still here... Do you have a partner and if so are they in the industry too? How do you manage touring life and a relationship.

Slightly vested interest as the v.boring other half to someoone who tours the world with bands and who is currently struggling with this imposed hiatus! I on other hand love having them here!

JacobReesMogadishu · 24/07/2020 23:55

@SospanFrangipan

Nope not Wales, different set of parents then.

Leflic · 24/07/2020 23:58

How do you feel about getting older and not headlining and becoming slightly irrelevant?
Are you happy to carry on touring and doing your hits or have you got a back up plan to do sone thing else?

daisychain1620 · 24/07/2020 23:59

What band are you in (worth a try!) although I think I knowWinkJapanese festival sounds fab btw!

Jux · 25/07/2020 00:00

Who is the nicest musician you've ever met?

Did you start your band, or did you audition?
What sort of instrument do you play - guitar, keyboard, drums? How did you learn?

What was your big break? How did it happen?

InappropriateFire · 25/07/2020 00:05

Wow Strummer's plectrum - I'm impressed. I have really happy memories of Brixton Academy too - and Hammersmith Odeon. I think that's where I saw the Communards once upon a time .. Jimmy Summerville in his chaps Grin. So with the Bunnymen, there couldn't have been many people there actually in front of them I'm thinking? Were you a select few?

That REM gig must have been special. My 'one that got away' story is this: U2 were just starting out and were playing the university circuit. I was at Manchester and they were playing Salford. The mate I went with knew the bloke who had booked them - he was Ents officer at Salford Uni, he was from Liverpool, I remember. Anyway he had always fancied my friend (apparently) and to impress her he invited us backstage. But she didn't want to encourage him so she wouldn't go - even though I begged her uncool it was obvious how big they were going to be. So I could have had a drink and a chat with U2 but I didn't. Grin.

Sigh. Memories.

InappropriateFire · 25/07/2020 00:07

my last message was to serenda

Thegreymethod · 25/07/2020 00:08

@squiffyseesaw

I can tell you what Serge is like btw... an absolute c u next Tuesday...
Noooooo this has broke my heart!! I always thought he came across as really lovely. What did he do?
Thegreymethod · 25/07/2020 00:12

Reverend and the makers have had a top 10 single so unless s/he answered wrong to throw people off the scent it isn't her.

serenada · 25/07/2020 00:12

Seeing U2 so early on was very lucky - I bet their early gigs were something to see. Very envious. I was raised in a home full of music - my parents were big music fans and my dad was always singing. My grandfather was a tenor who sang in a New York Jazz club apparently in the 30s on an official visit there (he was a sportsman promoting the sport in the US). My family used to collect old vinyl around the London markets when I was little so I grew up with a lot of the old stuff in my ears (mostly old Jazz and blues and Rock n roll - Eddie Cochrane, etc)

backseatcookers · 25/07/2020 00:20

When you say semi successful, what do you mean? Can you give an example of the level of being well known you're talking about? Not your band obviously as you're staying anonymous but ones a similar level of 'known' to you?

Soapysoap · 25/07/2020 00:41

Shamelessly placemarking. It's too late for me. My party days are over 😂

AskingforaBaskin · 25/07/2020 01:03

How much do you earn in an average yeR?

BitOfFun · 25/07/2020 01:14

Rude!

NearWildHeaven · 25/07/2020 01:21

Love this thread. I hope the OP comes back!

cinders15 · 25/07/2020 01:21

Slaves? (She said hopefully?)
