I'm a semi-successful musician in a rock band. It's my only occupation, has been for some years. I've been a lot of places, seen a lot of stuff and met a lot of people. Ask me anything. I can't answer everything for various reasons but let's see how it goes...

You have avoided the questions about whether you were previously a Mumsnetter - in case you were, have you ever or would you ever incorporate any MN tropes in your lyrics? A song called "No Is A Complete Sentence" (sounds like a Taylor Swift title, actually) or some sideways look at life involving a penis beaker, tinkly laughs etc...?

In reference to the rubbish Smash Hits questions, this one has always stuck in my mind. Think it was from an annual or something.

I vaguely remember Jason Donovan being really offended by the question as he thought they meant condoms. (This was 30 years ago so perhaps not quite accurate)

I love interesting names; people, place names, band names etc.

I really wanted to call our 2nd child lmnop (like you’re reading the alphabet) but it was (sensibly) overruled 😂 Possibly Better than Moon Unit though imho...

Westward Ho! Is the only place name in the UK with an ‘!’ In it!!

There are so many amazing band names, most with great stories behind them.

Having played in bands etc the process of coming up with the name is always fraught and interesting.

Without revealing too much can you tell us a bit about that process for you and your team, and maybe some of the names that ended up on the cutting room floor?

Does it matter to you if lyrics don’t make sense? I love listening to lyrics and wondering what’s behind them. When they’re contradictory or don’t make sense I wonder why they were written like that. I like a lyrical story.
Have you met Dave Grohl, is he really the nicest man in rock?

What is your view on vinyl records - worth the money or is streaming the future? (I think I saw you do a gig in Bristol and you signed a vinyl record for me :) )

So far the only band I can think of that meets the criteria is N Irish and all male whereas something makes me think the op might be female...?

I'm finding that most post-1999 bands with over 3 albums have a top 10 single (no shade intended op! )
