What is the word for “dongle” in each of them?

BettaSplenden · 29/09/2019 20:55

Which one has the best swear words?

Cuddlysnowleopard · 29/09/2019 20:56

Which language do you think in?

My mum speaks three (local language from birth, formal language at school, and the English from her 20's). She says she thinks in English, apart from numbers when she's doing mental arithmetic.

What are the languages? I'm so envious. I think it's such a genius thing to be able to do

MissLadyM · 29/09/2019 20:56

Do you dream in all four languages, or is there one that is dominant?
Do you use your languages for work?
Which languages do you speak?

Thanks OP!

My DD is trilingual. She constantly mixes the three, switching from one to the other. I'm mother tongue in language 1, DH is mother tongue in language 2. She speaks both fluently. Language 3 is of the country we now live in. I can't really speak very well, basics, so A2 max. DH is C1 in this language as it's close to his mother tongue and DD is fluent already as again it's close to language 2 and she's fully immersed daily in the school system. My question is, does she need to constantly use the 3 languages to remember them or will she lose 2 and 3 if she only speaks 1 for a significant amount of time? Grin

NoHummus · 29/09/2019 21:02

Thanks OP! I have another question, would you like to learn more languages? If so, which ones?

MotherFuckingLanguages · 29/09/2019 21:03

@NoHummus probably Catalan or Russian but more likely I wanna become fluent in my girlfriend Grin

Did you go to the Chalet School?

(In case you don't know, this is a fictional school, much loved by its fans - it was trilingual in English, French and German Grin)

MotherFuckingLanguages · 29/09/2019 21:07

@cwg1 no, I just went to a normal school lol
